Apple And Samsung Nickel Story....Who Fell For It?
There were constant reposts of a story about Samsung paying its $1 billion patent infringement fine to Apple in nickels. Wrong. The story originated on an "Onion-like" Mexican website called El Deforma, but that didn't stop legit outlets like Yahoo News Mexico from falling for it. Not only was their story total satire, it's also impossible, for a number of reasons:
a billion bucks in nickels would require 2,755 18-wheelers to deliver (and you thought California traffic was bad now…) and would weigh 100,000 tons. And according to estimates there aren’t even enough nickels in circulation anyway.culled
hahahahhahah
Well, that goes to show that people will believe almost anything....this story is old alright but it is still viral.
