DeleteWell well. Those ones that they have carried saturday give am sunday. I know one woman i.e. that when make her husband her driver! She sits at owners corner, and sends daddy to pick stuff for her in the market while she sits and wait in the car. When she wants to go to a party(a saturday saturday tonic) daddy drops her and parks in a far place from the party to wait. When she's done, she calls him to pick her up. Yes she has children and they hate her, but she does not care. The man don chop efo riro toh bad!, obokun fish with gbere, toto water and orisirishi. My husband don warn me say if she see me with her, make i park my load commot for ehm house.....heheheheheh

DeleteIn discussing post-colonialism, gender studies and domestic violence, it amuses me when feminist scholars talk about patriarchy as the cause of all unstable families and the problems in our homes. But one thing they refuse to acknowledge is the role women also play in the idea of domestic family and family breakage. Many would laugh at a man who comes out to complain about how his wife maltreats him because the norm is the other way round. The truth is there are so many homes that suffer violence from women. The society fails to accept that women could also be violent to their husbands. I know of this issue and how many men experience this. I think it is high time people also speak about this instead of concentrate only on the men domestically violating their women. I think this is a call to you Stella to also start a new post on domestic violence on men just like you did for women some months back.
