Ojukwu Family demands Proof Of Marraige To Ojukwu From Bianca?

WTF is this?proof of what?..I need to clean my ears!

This brings me to the point to alert and warn you ladies out there.once you marry him, whether he is rich or poor, keep the marriage certificate,IT IS YOUR PROPERTY....exactly as you are told at the registry....it is the only proof you have when his family begins acting funny, especially if he is/was rich.

I hope this is a joke......abi Bianca and Ojukwu were just living together, married by word of the mouth?

And those of you ladies who are doing live in lovers all the name of love and waiting for him to propose and getting preggy and reproducing in the process,i hand your cases over to God.

You will be the loser in the end unless you are ready to fight dirty!

*i don talk my own...am off to make dinner.normal blogging will resume soon.lol

  26. All these useless traditions and customs of brothers inheriting their late brother's properties leaving the wife and children to nothing has to be stopped. This is one out of millions of such cases especially in the east. The good thing is Bianca can stand up for herself and children against those lazy bones. My heart goes out for those ones (widows) who can speak for themselves.

  27. I am not supporting this family members o but then again, they are fighting over Sir Louis Ojukwu's property not Ikembas property. Ojukwu's father owned those properties in Ikoyi!!! Marriage under the act has been discussed extensively in www.oyenikealliyu-adebiyi.blogspot.com, it will help women both married and single to know if their marriage is recognized or void under the law. Thanks aunty Stella for always posting this link

    ReplyDelete
  31. @ anon 5:26 PM,let me correct you.Bianca never married Ojukwu coz of connection or fame.her father nd Ojukwu were friends...Her father was once a governor sef

    ReplyDelete
  32. irrespective of her stance and justification, ojukwu himself should not have put her in that position neither should she still be dragging properties with them.

the goodwill, political connections and name the man has left for her and the children made her what she is today.her children can never suffer especially amongst their people of the south east.
this is Africa not western world where all that matters is the letter of the law,in Nigeria the tradition and customs right or wrong also has a place before judgement.

when you marry a man who not only has grown up children, but these children are eminent and accomplished in their own right you are looking for trouble if you try and usurp what they see as their right.especially the role of first born son amongst the Igbos..

even if the whole money involved is 100,000 naira it is symbolic of something deeper i.e a woman taking over the role of the men in the family so they will not allow her any peace until she succumbs

      Delete
  33. Hmmm na wa o. There's a yoruba proverb that says..one who marries an old person should be ready to buy his coffin. I can imagine Shade Okoya will be smiling sheepishly now, cos she ensured that the man married her legally. And I thot to myself then, that it is possible that okoya's first wife was never legally married to him... eventho she was his recognized wife b4 shade. So I think today, it is only that shade that is legally married to the man. Under the law the other women who bore him kids (including his first wife)...are baby mamas. Traditional wedding, yes. But if they no marry the man for court na long thing o. Wakeup call to all the young babes that are 'married' to the likes of Ojukwu.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Thank you o. These days chic buy rings and wear them and lie that they are 'married.' In the long run let's hope such chic don't end up singing that song 'who's zooming who.' by Aretha Franklin, thinking because they bore babies, in a court of law they have much to say. It doesn't always turn out that easy.

      Delete
    2. Are u aware that traditional marriage is recognised in a court of law?

      Delete
    3. Mrs Zulu, from a Lawyer's point of advise, Shade Okoya's legal marriage is null and void ab initio. If she wanted a court marriage under the act, Okoya would have dissolved his traditional wedding with his first wife, so that he can marry just as one man, one wife. So according to the law, Shade is not Okoya's wife, she is just cohabiting. But the only thing is if Okoya wishes to take more wives, he can do so, by conducting traditional weddings, not court marriages. And it depends on your tribe. As an ibo person, if you marry under the act without a traditional marriage, you are not married. You are living as boyfriend girlfriend. Even the Nigerian courts admits the traditional marriages of ibos to be valid over a court wedding. So be careful. Always find things out and know what works for you

      Delete
    4. Anon 12:16. Err there's a bit of contradiction in ur analysis. U say traditional marriage is recognized in court right? And then u said shade's is not valid? Being that she did both the court and d trad, and if the man had a wife under the law ab-inito, why would he marry shade in court again? And if trad wedding is acceptable, say he did trad with his other wives too...errr? Who's is the legal one? If u are saying the ibo trad is recognized, fine, I wouldn't knw cos am yoruba. But does that also apply to non ibos according to d law?

My understanding of legal weddings in Nigeria is such that the trad is more important bcos of our respective cultures. However, the legal certificate is what binds u under the law, therefore u cannot marry 2pple except u divorced one. So where does this leave the others, if perhaps they've been married off traditionally and u say it is also acceptable??

  34. What Money, What Connection?.
Bianca was Chief Christian Onoh's daughter. ( an ex governor) so she had money.
She was a beauty queen, so she had fame.
So my people Bianca married Ojukwu for love.
    *Adah Adah**

    ReplyDelete
  35. Anon #8 how do you know she married him for the wrong reasons? I once read an interview where she described Ojukwu's personality and why she loved him. I was quite young then, but it was music to my ears. You can't replace true love with money and fame. It's unfortunate they can't settle their problems amicably. But I suppose Bianca is fighting so that her children would not disinherited at the end of the day, not necessarily that she is not wealthy on her own.

  37. That piece of paper even though to some might just be 'a piece of paper' but hold on to it. It could mean a matter of poverty or wealth in countries where the records of marriages and so on could be tampered with. In this case, it smells like a rat, someone is using a ' pound of flesh' trickery to cheat this woman out of some assets.

  41. Stella, most people are not aware of the Marriage situation in Nigeria. A valid marriage depends on your tribe and religion. In the case of Bianca, if she never carried out her traditional wedding with. Odimegwu, she was never married, she was just cohabiting. Let her produce a court marriage certificate from President Obama, according to Ibo traditional marriage which the court recognises and supercedes marriage act, she isn't married. And the kids she had for Ojukwu, the Onohs can claim those children. So all you women that think they are married to ibo men without traditional wedding, it is a sham piece of paper. Always find out before leaping. Same goes for men also.

  43. @ anon October 25, 2013 at 12:08 PM she married him traditionally. Rant over.

  44. I dont think Sade Okoya had a court marriage o, she nly did traditional marriage which the man did for his first wife and even the other one that left (i think she relocated to UK or so)
Its not a big deal in yoruba and to do traditional marriage esp for muslims, he has to do it so his wives can cook for him during ramadan, they call it WONKA, that Mama Kuburat is and will remain his 1st and authe wife, she shd save for her future - finito!!!
Sorry Lady Bianca - this too shall pass, hold unto ur job well, ur husband has paved way for u, dont kill urself cause of d late man's properties!

  46. You think Bianca isn't powerful herself? Queen of the coast. Just like Sade Okoya. When you see women fighting families you think it's ordinary eye? Don't be fooled they are strong women. 48. Mrs Zulu, let me explain these things to you. In Nigeria, marriage under the Act is recognised, but due to our cultural differences, other cultures tradition had to be accepted and recognised. For example the Yorubas have no problem if they marry under the act, either going to court or church, it is binding. But if an ibo person does that, he or she isn't married until the traditional marriage is done. If the traditional marriage isn't done, and they married under the act, it is no marriage. On the Okoyas, if Shade did traditional marriage before the court wedding, then she is a wife, if not she is just cohabiting and laying eggs. Okoya's other wives are recognised irrespective of any other court wedding Shade might have done. If a man marries traditionally in Yorubaland, he is allowed to take more wives and is marriage is recognised under the law, but if he chooses to do a court marriage, he would have to divorce his wives traditionally before having a court marriage. If he goes ahead with the court wedding, it's no marrige. It's void ab initio

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Ohhkk then I gat you. I understand the Islamic aspect of marrying many wives under the tradition etc. But marrying everyone traditionally, but then including the court union with just one of the lot is what got me confused. Anyhow thanks for the explanation
