Ok,in other news, thanks to whoever recommended ijebu garri with a sprinkling of groundnuts for loosing weight.Instead of rice,swallows and other carbs,I substituted those with "soaking" ijebu garri without sugar.Had salads too! It worked! I ve lost almost 2kg and it shows! No kidding! Anon,Thanks for the tip! Signed:wide eyed!

Garri is one hell of a "used and abused food" which people have tossed to the side in Naija as poor man's food but it's a little known secret that it works to help weight loss. Diet tablets and all that nonsense could be harmful but "Miss Garri" not only fills you up, it is refreshing and hell to the yeah, you will lose weight if you follow the instructions of not adding sugar and milk, just plain old gari.Bitterleaf with at a rodo cooked as a broth will prevent tongue thrush and also would see as a laxative to flush you out as you go on this diet. Try it for a month then get back on a normal diet but cut out excessive carbs. Then try the diet again. Mark you, water is good for your system and exercise as well.If anyone needs any more recommendations about this topic,just say so and I will post on this blog more info about how you can shrink your body size without going hungry. Those Russian and American girls thank me on a regular.

ReplyDeletePap, ogi with no sugar or milk is also a great weight loss food. Just make sure you eat plenty of vegetables with minimal oil. I recommend olive oil. For those who want to try, buy Panla fish, ewuro leaves and add bullion and plenty water and olive oil. Steam it in a pot and eat this as a broth to fill you up when you feel hungry, if you want to substitute your Garri on occasion but my number one is the Garri ijebu diet. In no time, people will be asking you, Shay you sick? And you will be smiling knowing you are not sick, but have chosen to take a new lease on life to lose weight. Keep the questions coming I have one more.
ReplyDeleteP.s For those of you that buy smart water of Palin water, soak it in Garri ijebu and put the water in your fridge. Drink this in the morning and you will feel full for a few hours, still adding NO sugar.Its easy. But please o, don't starve o. Thank you all

DeleteI lost 22 pounds in 10 weeks. I was on only fruits and veggies for 10 days, then I did calorie counting and long walks for the remaining weeks. I reduced my daily calorie intake to 800, 1000 max. Then I ate carbs only once a week, Protein 3 times a week and fruits and veggies everyday (I do this even now). I still ate chocolates everyday cos I love them but I made sure I ate chocolate of 50 calories a day. I didn't want to stop anything (except sugary drinks) completely cos I knew I would add back once I start eating them again. I have never drank anything besides water for the past 3 years. I've made a lifestyle change and its working for me. I would rather snack on fruits of 200 calories than cake or biscuit of 200 calories. If I go out with friends and eat rice, cake, ice cream etc, the next 2 days I will eat only fruits and veggies just to catch up. Calorie counting is now part of my life. Lol. I've kept the weight off and I'm loving myself. Was a size 14 3 years ago, now a size 8 and proud of it.
