She is pregnant with your child and then....she labours to birth him.
The labour room experience is an unforgettable one......you will not understand this unless you have been inside.
For some men,the shock of what goes on inside there kills their passion for sex with their wives, for some,it turns their wives into their 'sisters' and they do not want to send her back there so they rule off sex entirely without telling her why, some manage to do it but with a detached mind.
For some men,the labour room experience straightens what they share with their spouse and deepens their love and respect for womanhood and their mothers.
Some men out of fear swear never to go inside the labour room and pin it on tradition....they say tradition forbids that a man goes inside the labour room.... hehehe
Hey man, have you ever been inside the labour room?you saw the baby come out of the hole you cherish and adore?it was all messy and put you off red meat for a while?it put you off sex too?
Please share with us what your labour room experience did to you.
did she cuss you out?swear at you?land you the dirtiest slap ever?... Lmao!
If you have never been inside the labour room but have kids, what is your reason?
There is so much to learn,so much beauty in watching a child come out of the tohtoh!
*still learning how to use this mac, pardon any error..na power macine be this....now get to commenting and ignore this addendum...lol
My husband saw my 2 kids come out of my sweet pussy and he was hitting it within 4 weeks. If I allowed him, he'd be on it on the next day. Dude wasn't put off one bit o.
ReplyDeleteI ve never carried a baby b4 in my life!I dnt know what it feels like 2 carry a baby... I only wonder how I can do with mine when d time cums. Am gussing my mum will ve 2 cum over here 2 help. I just got married 2 the man of my dream 4mnts ago. I ve resently just relocated with him. We stay here in Brazil now. God plz help me when the time cums... *sobs*
DeleteThe man I'd get married to in the future won't dare leave me alone in the labour room. He won't even try. Hahahaha! He won't even think it.
DeleteWhat's with the cussing and swearing? For what now? When I was the chief initiator of sex most times. I thought that's a myth. My sweetheart was rubbing my back and kissing me when I brought forth my baby. And I had no cussing thoughts, just muttering prayers.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe. I jst read thru 78 comments. I have laffed real hard my tummy is aching. Tnx ya'all for d shared xperiences.
DeleteStella my sis, mine was not child birth oh. Mine was egg pick up in preparation for ivf. I saw heaven, purgatory and hell fire. I think it is the most painful procedure any woman can pass through. I have not given birth before but I think this is worse than child birth. I am not saying it to discourage women from doing it. More than 30 holes were made on my ovaries to suck out the oocytes cos I had uncountable follicles. That was three days ago, but am still in a lot of pain. Hubby was there, he cried with me, immediately we came home from the hospital, he took over all the house chores. He cooks and feeds me, washes the plates, baths me, cleans house, goes chopping. Stella, I pity him cos he longer goes to work.
ReplyDeleteIs it rili dat painful, u've put d fear of IVF in me. God bess ur hubby...some guys wld still not send. It's been war to get him to agree going for his own test sef.
DeleteGod bless ur hubby n also bless ur family with the fruit of the womb...all the best.
DeleteI release the favour of God on your ovaries. You shall not cry this tears again. God will give you double for your trouble. I know exactly what you are talking about sister. I just want u to have faith and trust God. Your husband is highly blessed too. From now on na soft touch in Jesus' name. Amen.
DeleteGod bless ur hubby and grant ur family ur heart desires !...
DeleteYour tears will be turned to JOY! You marriage will be fruitful and wonderful.
DeleteGOD bless your husband; he's a good husband. You both shall celebrate very soon IJMN, amen.
God has given you the Victory. U won't shed any sorrowful tears concerning this issue again.
DeleteNow I'm truly fallin in love wit dis blog, lib u're loosin me oooo
ReplyDeleteI couldn't let my husband in, I don't want him seeing my vajayjay so disfigured... I want him to look at me like I vomit my babies.. I want to remain " hot" in his eyes...lol..and also I don't want him to faint..haha
ReplyDeleteWhen I'll be giving birth my italiano will be with me, for now no comment
ReplyDeletehaha...until he finds another italiano hotter than you...
DeleteDo they allow men to enter the labour room in Nigeria?
ReplyDeleteMy husband fainted in the Labour room.... Bless him. He was screaming and crying more than I was. He couldn't even video anymore and a nurse had to help out... When he saw the head and blood, he just collapsed hahahahahaha. He was so emotional when he held the baby... He cried and was telling me thank you. He was the butt of all jokes for months, both from family, friends and his employees. My husband is the one that takes care of everyone so it was a surprise that he broke down completely. He wailed like a baby... He got a doctor's advice before he would have sex with me later cos he was scared I hadn't healed properly and he would hurt me. He said that's the most terrifying thing he has ever witnessed. It changed him for the better though.... Through out the time I was nursing, he would be the one to wake up in the middle of the night, change diapers, bath the baby when I'm tired etc. He said as far as he was concerned, I had done my own part by going through what I went through during labour and it was time for him to do his own part. After that first child, he over pampered me during my 2 other pregnancies and goes all out to spoil his mother and I on mother's day. Him and his business partner introduced 3 days paternity leave for fathers in their company. He witnessed the other 2 births too but was stronger and more helpful, rubbing my arms and all. 2 weeks before each birth, he keeps his calender free and doesn't travel far.... He said witnessing the births made him a better son, husband and father. We would encourage our sons to witness the birth of their kids. I thank God for my husband everyday, and I bless the day I met him.
Awwwww..... Happy for you. My bro changed too after witnessing the birth of his twins. He treats his wife like egg now. I think every man should witness it. Yes, some nigerian hospitals allow men to enter labour room.
DeleteI totally love your husband! God bless such men. Hugs for him.
Delete@ Cara,God Bless your husband,I had tears in my eyes!
DeleteBless his heart!
Wow!
DeleteI'm amazed! I've always believed we still have good men around.
Woman, you are blessed to have such a husband.
May your marriage continue to be sweet like fine wine.
With tears in my eyes, I'm asking God to bless me with this kind of husband.he is a rare gemm u are favoured.
Delete*that_Edo_babe!
Wow!Stella, you may be controversial but you are surely creative. Also, your mature experiences aid your blogging prowess.
ReplyDeleteI salute you!
Hmnnnn......i still have d vid of my birthing experience.....My hubby cried! As in the tears flowed.....our love was taken to greater heightts afterwards. ......he pardons my faults and loves the kids beyond measures that sometimes I begin to fear for them becoming spoilt n over pampered.
ReplyDeleteOh!

ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read life experiences. I am really scared of child birth. Good Lord, help me when it's my turn.
Julianah, it's all in the mind.
DeleteHave a positive mind towards childbirth and don't forget to speak positive too.
Well, am a woman but I heard a story here in the UK that the guy saw the whole thing and he couldn't stomach any food for a while and also like you said refuse to touch his wife. I think the nurses at the hospital should not let them see what is going on down under, they should just let them stand at the upper side and comfort us. I heard that they've been doing that in some borough (area) in London.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby was willing but after hours of labour, i had to have a c-section and he just could'nt watch them cut me up.
ReplyDeleteI think all men need to be in the labour room when their wifes are giving birth . I have two kids and my husband is always there with me. It isn't even up for discussion if he like being there on not, I can't imagine giving birth without him being by my side. He loves it , he always cry when I push them out. always ready to cut the cord. After experiencing it twice, he has got a lot of respect for women.

ReplyDeleteSure I support dis, my hubby is d I dnt care type, I kip asking myslf did dis man charm me, b4 you knw he cals my mum to be dr. But dis third one I Ђ̥̊α̲̅√ said Iτ̲̅ he must be with me or I tell him am not comin out alive if he wnt be dr, will even tell d nurses ɑ̤̥̈̊Ω̴̩̩̩̥d̶̲̥̅̊ doctor maybe after dis, he will strtt respectin ɑ̤̥̈̊Ω̴̩̩̩̥d̶̲̥̅̊ love me like never b4
DeleteI don't think u should wish yourself death oh.some men can't go in just like my dad but he is very sweet!
DeleteI'm a doctor Ąπϑ I've seen it many times Ąπϑ it never ceases to amaze me Ąπϑ yeah its quite messy but somehow I manage to put it out of my mind as soon as I leave the labour room so it doesn't disturb me. Meat or sex are just as satisfying. My wife? well she hasn't been there yet so I dnt quite know how it might feel..I'm not sure I want to see that though.

Been there thrice. The first one my mum was wif me α̲̅πϑ she warned me not scream but be strong else I'll hve to scream anytym am in labour. But T̶̲̥̅̊h̶̲̥̅̊e̶̲̥̅̊ last person I wanted near me was my hubby, kai his mere sight disgusted me at D̶̲̥̅̊a̶̲̥t̶̲̥̅̊ moment. T̶̲̥̅̊h̶̲̥̅̊e̶̲̥̅̊ thing is though T̶̲̥̅̊h̶̲̥̅̊e̶̲̥̅̊ woman is in labour, T̶̲̥̅̊h̶̲̥̅̊e̶̲̥̅̊ man suffers more cos he is completely confused.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! This will be very intresting, I can't wait to read comments. Aunty Stella thank you for raising this topic.
ReplyDeleteI remember how scared my hubby was when I was in labour for our first child , the guy practically ran mad cos I had prolonged labour(19 hours). He said 20 decades of rosary in 15 minutes. He confessed all his sins that day, hahaha. At a time i yelled at him to get out, the way I was yelling the guy wanted to leave, I now shouted again, "where do you think you are going to"? "common come back here"! You want me to die alone eeh? Omo hubby used speed to run in again. I cussed him eeeh, lol. The time he made the mistake of telling me to be strong, that I'm doing well, omo see my vex, I screamed, "Can someone please tell this man to leave me alone"? Somehow I got hold of his hand and at that moment, I had one bad contraction and I unconciously raised his hand and put in my mouth, ready to bite, hahaha, you need to see the horrified look on his face as he begged me not to bite him. By the time baby was out he was at the verge of fainting. It took him upto 3 months to recover from the shock. Sometimes after the first few months of giving birth I will catch him staring at me and shaking his head. The day I asked him why he was always staring at me in that funny way, he told me, baby you are very strong, thank you for going through that pain for me and our baby, I wish I could, I would have taken your place, thank you my love, God bless you for me. I was touched. We still laugh out loud whenever we remember the drama I acted that day. It is well.
And yes, I feel every man should be there when his wife is in the labour room, it kind of makes it easier for the woman and after that they appreciate and respect women more.
Whao! Tears droping
DeleteMehn.. Ur contribution made me gas..I cudnt help but laff.. Will try it on my hubby although am still TTC. Still lmao
DeleteToo funny. Lmao
DeleteVerytouching! Wished mine was like urs buh quiet different,I had mai 1st baby in a general hosp,d 2nd one was a private hosp, mai hubby left me all alone @ d hosp busy taking bottles of beers in a beer parlour, evn wen I called him to giv him d gd news it still took him hours to com and see me and d baby and wen he finally came he was already drunk.pregnant again wth d 3rd one he has never forr once touch mai tummy not to talk of saying sorry.I pray to almighty God to see me tru dis third time.

DeleteLabour room is one of the places I have wish not to enter. My ex girl who is a doctor, told me scaring stories on what women pass through there, especially women who are giving birth for the first time. The thought of making a girl I love pass through such experiences, scares me most.
ReplyDeleteMy first experience was kinda nasty. There was this my neigbours daughter who kept her pregnancy secret from everyone. The day she went into labour. It was just my cousine sister and I at home. We couldn't rush her to the hospital because the Baby's head was already coming out.
ReplyDeleteI sent my sister to go get help, before they arrived I, the baby was already out and there I was holding the baby still attached still attached to the placenta. Was so scared that I thought of running away. When I saw small toto became as big as a size 4 football.
Luckily the women came with a new blade. I became a hero for that. It was a boy! Baby was named after me.
Awwww
DeleteMy husband is going nowhere near the lab our ward with me. NEVER! How do I expect him to go down in me after that? and sleep with me and be excited? it won't happen oh. My mama will come with me simples.

DeleteGod bless my hubby, i was preg with our first baby, i had pregnancy induced HP, so i was induced. my hubby packed his bag, and joined me in the labor room. initally i was having fun, eating, watching movies, but when the pains started it was a different game, but i initailly i booked for an epidural but i didnt tell my hubby cos he will feel like i dont want to push. before the pains started, he came to me and said "baby, u can do this, other women do it, u will be alright ok" i said ok. when the pains started, i asked for an epidural, and i got the shots, but beofre the, the nurses told me, i should stop walking around cos it was difficult to the reading, i told them i wanted to pee, and they brought this moveable, disposable toilet for me to use, i could get myself to pee infront of them, i tried and i peed on the floor, my hubby rushed and cleaned up the pee, even though the oyibo nurses were like its not his job to do. i ended up having a CS, my hubby was there through out, he held my hands, and we did it together, he even cut the cord. to my hubby, i love u lots baby, u rock my world.
ReplyDeleteWhen two people decide to marry and have kids, they have decided that the wife will pass through this most likely. I think its the biggest pain someone living can have.If I experience one-tenth of it I will pass out. For me it need not freak a man out all the same. Stay there watch her and support her and go ahead and cut the cord or on d other hand, decide not to get her pregnant. Woman are stronger than us in many ways. It's there natural duty in the home. As men we need not pity them but rather respect them and do all our own natural assignment in the home well. Marriage is not just a love affair, each partner has an assignment in the union. Up you ladies, we go still dey do oooo! lol.
ReplyDeleteHehehehehehe Sterra, one of the hottest topics in recent times. Been laughing my eyes out n peeps in d adjoining office r wondering what's gotten into me.
ReplyDeleteD day I enterd labour room...I cn neva 4get in my life. DeleteHelp me tell am abeg. All these childish blackberry abreviations can be very annoying to read. Let's help educate ourselves. Eno dey kill person and it doesn't mean we are not up to date. Na so some people do the thing sotey dem no sabi correct spelling any longer
Deletemy hubby was with me during d birth of my first child. we both thought it would be a walk in the park. when serious contractions, it became something else! i held unto his arms like a vise, at a point , his eyes rolled back in pain when i held tight. he rubbed my back when contractions stopped. suddenly, i felt the urge to push and i screamed, he looked down and saw a head with mucour and blood. he flung my hand and ran! the nurses caught up with him at the junction! lol. by the time they convinced him to return, i had given birth.the subsequent babies, he found reasons to be out of town! he only monitored through the phone.
ReplyDeleteI love my husband so much, I lov everytn about him. He was so afraid 2 luk at my face after I delivered. He ask me how I'm feeling I told him I wasn't feeling fyn atal, he told a doctor dat z besyd us n dat 1 sed she will be fyn, it z jst 4 d main tym. Dey gave him our baby n e sed "oh! my baby I will 4eva love yu only if yu obey yur moda" he dropped our baby n e sit on d bed while I use him as pillow, e pamperd me till I slept off. Uptil date he has bn my LOVE n neva 4 1ce leave me. I LOVE YU SAMMY

ReplyDeleteStella you have all my respect for helping people like myself with such Topic. God bless you
the stories here makes me laugh so hard,I remembered a few months back when my cousin was in labour was in the hospital with her and her husband when the labour starts the man got up and started walking up and down he brought carton of beer he always rush to the car to drink, after 5 hours the wife was still in labour when the baby was about coming the man ran out cos I was outside the labour room with him I was like oga were to?he said a beg I no fit stay,I said but you must stay oo cos your wife go soon born, finally the baby arrived I congratulated him and he was happy but small time he looked at me,asking why I was congratulating him when his not hearing his wife's voice,I answered what do you want your wife to be doing after given birth to continue crying, that's when I know that is not easy for the men when their wife's are in labour, and that comes the saying once a woman is pregnant the husband is also pregnant.
ReplyDeletePLS WHERE DO I FIND THE TYPE OF UR HUSBAND TO MARRY, IM DYING SILENTLY ON DEPRESSION, MEN VE SHOWN ME WEEEIIIII?????? NA FINE GIRLS DE SUFFER PASS, BEEN SINGLE SINCE DEC, ALL DEM GUYS CLAIM IM TOO BEAUTIFUL TO BE SINGLE.

DeleteMy husband was with me for our first but was later sent out of the labor room when d baby was about to come out. He appreciated me and d birthing of a child more when I had our new baby through a csection. The lady scheduled just b4 me had complications that almost killed her. Thus my hussy was really grateful when mine went A-ok. He held my hands and looking into my eyes, said "thank you baby."
ReplyDeleteHa! Mine was different oo. My hubby is a doctor, so, it's a normal tin or experience for him. I had our first baby in luth, he video evrytin. Menh! I called all the name of God dt dey. He wasn't allowed in so he was by d window trying to comfort me but men d sound of his voice was just grating on my nerves. At a point I even told him not to call me again otherwise..lol. Poor guy he was so worried and scared by my cries that he started throwing up. Finally put to bed after 8 gruelling hours and suddenly my love for him returned from nowhere. He was so awed by d new baby he just couldn't stop thanking God. D second time, labour was so fast he couldn't even be dia for d birth. He just dropped me at the hosp and drove out to use d atm, less than 3omins I called him that I had put to birth and he was like u r joking. Didn't believe me till he got back. He calls me superwoman till today cos dat day I had gone to work dat very day and even on d way to d hosp I was laffing and gisting with him in between contractions and likke magic produced a baby in less than 1hr. Am happy he never witnessed d actual birth cos I know dat'll def put him off sex forever

ReplyDelete@ E.T Igwe, are you married? if yes has your wife given birth? if yes, were you there? if yes you are not suppose to talk like this. Your type are the ones that allow your woman to suffer so much because you people agreed to marry each other, if you don't see big deal in child birth. Real men appreciate their woman and their mother very well after child birth. Real men help their wife in chores and taking care of children, after witnessing my wife giving birth to our kids, i started appreciating her more, i cherish and adore her more. I wonder what will the woman in the lives of some Boy-man pass through, they think providing food for the family is the responsibility they have in the family.
ReplyDeleteMy first was a miscarriage and the doctors needed to flush my system I was asked who I wanted to be there with me I said my hubby but he didn't show up he was too scared to, then my second delivery was a preterm delivery, lost the baby though and my hubby was nowhere around he was at home sleeping like nothing ever happened, am pregnant again and I am not banking on him being around #sadface#

Proud mom of 2 amazing girls and my hubby was always there, rubbing my waist, holding me while I pushed out our bundles of joy. Awesome God!

When delivery process started proper, I didn't even know that hubby was there...because all I could see was pain!!!!. I was just begging God to have mercy. ReplyDeleteEgg retrieval is not supposed to be done without anesthesia! You must have used one of these damned bloody naija hospitals. I did IVF/ICSI and was put to semi-concious anesthesia!
