ReplyDeleteTake this as a submission from a neutral mind. As I am neither a fan of Genny or omotola. I wonder what has become of these so called celebs.
Gone are the days when we would itch to know what's up with them, gone are the days when d paparazzis will struggle to get a glimpse to take fotos.
These days, they are the ones who provide us with more infos and fotos, with captions explaining their day to day activities, more than is needed or required for public consumption.
Yet, when they get dissed, they start to vex and write rejoinders or disclaimers. Who do u blame?
What I grew up to understand of celebs worldwide, is that, everyone including those who don't even like them, will long to know what they are up to. Hollywood stars beg and pray to be out of the media, except a few who are public nuisances. They even disguise when they go out, so that they can enjoy life outside the public glare.
Don't we all see how some unclear pics of them are published? Which clearly indicates that the photographer docked or rushed to quickly get an exclusive pic. But its not same with these ones here.
These ones will provide their pics, and bloggers will still put a FALSE caption... thus saying "Raskimono was SIGHTED bla bla". Who sighted who? When the celeb clearly poses to be taken a foto? Come off it people!!!!!!!
Everyday they would stylishly release their pics to the media or bloggers, just so we can see their new dress or hairstyle.
A good ex is one nearer home, lagbaja. I am one of those itching to know the man behind that mask. Granted that the mask wearing is his showbiz identity, but if that man were a publicity struck person, by now we would know who he really is. And that is why he has contd to remain fresh and afloat relevance...cos we cannot decode him just yet.
On the other hand, Omotola and Genny are 'publicity ridiculous' (if there's such phrase) So much that if I ran into any of them tomoro, I won't even give either a second glimpse. Why? Becos I prolly know where they are going, I prolly know what they ate for dinner, I prolly know d color of nightie each wore to bed last night...and I am certain that I will jam dem on any blog when I log in.
Its becoming monotonous and sickening. It doesn't take away the fact that they are stars, and that they are doing great in their respective duties. But enough already. Give me a breather and something to look fwd to.

DeleteI did NOT generalize Hollywood/ Nollywood celebs, I direct my advice to the ones who are beginning to abuse their 'media privileges'. In this case, Omotola.
Whether u agree or not, I still maintain that no matter how experienced or A classed any publicist may seem, a time will come when pple will get tired of seeing ur artiste.
Goodluck to Paris Hilton and Britney, it sure is working for them now, but certainly NOT for Omotola or Genny. That's all!

ReplyDeleteDon't u all see Dakore? Every blog headline is either Omotola or Genny. Both should engage publicists who understand the rudiments of having d necessary publicity as at when due. Otherwise, both ur media values is fast descending and becoming outright CHEAP.
Let us be the ones to look for u. STOP gracing every red carpet events, it doesn't mean that if u decline certain invites, that we'll think u don't have a dress to grace the occasion.
This is why Mike Adenuga remains the most sought after entrepreneur in Nigeria media wise today. Not until his last bday, the media didn't have in their possession his current fotos for any publicity. Where will they even see d man to take pics when he's not a function cheap animal? For a person who doesn't attend functions...its hard. Pple may term it as arrogance, but I think its setting one's priorities straight. The media can make u as well as break u.
OmoT and Genny should know better. Uv been in the industry long enough...no media stunts can influence ur viewers for or against u. U have both earned and accrued d due respects of ur viewers tru hard work, and tru the raw talents that u both possess and have exhibited.
U have been made stars before the advent of blogs and technology gadgets. We've from time past appreciated both ur beauties before the advent of foto shop. U don't need all these now, becos we know u are capable.
Leave that struggling nonsense to the up and coming ones who need to prove their talents and beauty to the public.
Take the back seat and mentor the ones behind u. U should be the ones to school them on when to appear in the media, when to respond to criticism, and when to unplead or plead their 5th amendments.
Don't tire and bore us stiff with ur hourly updates on instagram or blogs. Yes, bloggers may be 'thiefing' ur pics to post them, but if u don't gv them the reasons to do so, they'll let u all be. Goodbye!
Well written. But I would like to take an exception to comparing Omotola and Genevieve with Dakore. How can you bring Dakore down like that. They are miles apart, they are class apart, they are finesse apart, they are not in the same sawawu abeg. Omotola and Genevieve are local breed that's why they try too hard. Dakore na born "Aje Butter" with values. Check out her pedigree na. People will be using Omotola to do eg, pikin wey rotten from small, from 15 she don dey fuck man wey dey work. Abeg joor.
