Apostle Anselm Madubuko Remarries Quietly.....All You Need To Know.

+Couple share their love story and dreams

Apostle Anselm Madubuko of Revival Assembly Church is now set and ready to remarry. Not only that, he’s also found another soul mate. The dashing preacher of the gospel’s wife-to-be is Emmy Kosgei, a Kenyan music star. Dark and lovely, smooth-skinned and smashing, she is 33 years old. Humble but highly successful, she is the daughter of a bishop and has lived all her life in the church.

Their traditional marriage will take place on Thursday, August 29, 2013, in Kenya and the church aspect, Saturday, August 31, 2013, here in Nigeria. The church service will, of course, hold be at Revival Miracle Cathedral, 1-7, Revival Close, off Cocoa Road, off Akilo Road, by Guinness Breweries, Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos. A reception will follow later at Lagos Sheraton Hotel & Towers, on Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja, Lagos. But only for a select few. Anambra State guber hopeful and MD/CEO of Capital Oil and Gas Industries Limited, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, will chair the event while handsome actor, Joseph Benjamin, will serve as the MC. Hear Apostle Madubuko on why he settled for Emmy: “The truth is that God brought her to me and it was just glare in my spirit. When my wife passed on, I was completely clueless and I began to pray. God showed her to me…”
On how easy it was to woo her, he had this to say: “She refused initially, but after sometime, through prophesies and so on, she said yes”. Excited about finally extracting a yes from her, he revealed that he first set eyes on her in Kenya during one of his visits to the country to propagate God’s work. “But she first came to Revival Assembly in 2010. This was for our Azusa Conference”. And she has been coming ever since to perform. In fact, she was also part of the 2013 Azusa Conference which held between July 25 and 28.

EMMY’S INTIMATE SECRETS
Born on July 22, 1980, Emmy Kosgei hails from Kelelwa, Mogotio, in the Koibatek District of Kenya. The daughter of Bishop Jackson and Rose Kosgei, she started singing and dancing in her father’s church at a very young age. Her first album, Katau Banda, was released in 2005. Followed by Kaswech and Taunet. Arguably one of the most successful female artistes in East Africa, her coutnry’s President once decorated her with the Head of State’s Commendation (HSC) award.
Equally into fashion designing, her label is called Emmy K House of Fashion. The Hope Academy, a school for disadvantaged children where the emphasis is on spiritual matters and extra-curricular activities is also owned by her. One of her most popular numbers is Ololo. She once spoke to Carol Odero and below are some of the things they discussed…

Who is the Emmy Kosgei?
Daughter to highly acclaimed protestant cleric, Bishop Jackson Kosgei and his wife, Rose, a versatile business woman. Emmy grew up in Mogotio, in Koibatek District.

Who is her greatest influence?
Her father is her greatest influence. He raised us in such a way that we do not feel the gap. It has taught us that disability is not inability in life.

How would she describe her experience growing up?
I would say it was a humble background. We were not well off, but we managed.

When did she start being a performer?
She has always been a performer, joining everything from the youth choir to the drama club in high school. I used to compose my own songs and sometimes people would cry. My dad would say it was because my words were so powerful.

What did she study in college?
She moved to Nairobi to study Food Production at Utalii College, it was her first time in a city. I know a lot of people might think I am a mshamba, but I don’t care.

When did she start developing her singing career?
She sung in church, but never considered doing it professionally. Then, she met Esther Wahome who heard her sing in church and became her mentor.

What did she advise her to do?
She advised me to try something different. Everyone was already singing in English and Kiswahili. Emmy decided to sing in her native Kalenjin in order to stand out. Vernacular language is different, very rich and not explored.

What else did Esther tell her?
When she performs, Emmy always wears outfits she designs and tailored by her staff at her fashion house, the Emmy K House of Fashion. Again, this was on Esther’s advice. I used to be a model and at the time I was slim, so she also told me to take advantage of my looks. Esther also said to do a good album cover and video.

Her singing career didn’t take off immediately…what did she do to make ends meet?
Before her career took off, Emmy started trying to make ends meet with a job at Engen in 2003 in their customer service department.

She quit that job, why?
She left because she had to work in shifts and that got in the way of her making church music. Then, she was hired as a sales representative for a Catholic NGO where she thrived and was promoted. This job offered a flexible schedule—and it was there that she met a friend who served as a stepping stone to her first ever tour in South Africa.

Where did she get the money to launch her first album?
I used my savings and money from my dad and friends because I could only afford about half the amount.

How does she run her career?
Her office has a sales and marketing team, who run Emmy Kosgei as a brand. She is also very much aware of herself image and knows exactly what works with her colouring.

What else does she do except singing?
She is a skilled business woman. She runs a fashion label named Emmy K House. Emmy opened Hope Academy, a school that educates 40 students from the direst of situations. They don’t have anything. Some lost their parents, or are being raised by grandparents or come from environments where they brew alcohol.

What is the one thing that she doesn’t do?
I don’t struggle. All the things I do in my life, I do them because I have passion for them. As for Christianity, I have never known any other life, but this I enjoy thoroughly. Even when I first came to Nairobi, there were no temptations for me. I can’t imagine any other life.

THE MAN, ANSELM MADUBUKO
Apostle Anselm Madubuko is the General Overseer of Revival Assembly Church, one of the leading Pentecostal churches in Nigeria. Born on July 25, 1958, he is a native of Orsumoghu in Ihiala local government area of Anambra State. He attended Government Secondary School, Afikpo and University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, where he studied Architecture. He graduated in 1982, came to Lagos for his NYSC and thereafter joined Tom Ikimi and Associates, an architectural firm owned by Nigeria’s former Minister of External Affairs, Chief Tom Ikimi. Initiated into the Lodge (by his late father) and Pyrates Confraternity (on his own), where he rose to become a capon, he had to abandon all that after he got born again on August 4, 1983.
A very good friend of Rev. Chris Okotie, right from their days at UNN, he was Okotie’s right hand man until one unfortunate and unforgettable day when he banned him from his church (Household of God, where he used to head the Deliverance Department). After due consultations, he started Revival Assembly. The church was first sited on Oritshe Street in Ikeja before it relocated to its permanent site.
Called of God to reach out to the nations, he was happily married to Pastor Connie until death separated them, on Friday, July 6, 2012. The union is blessed with three children – Velma, Anselm, Jnr. and Sandra. The late Pastor Connie, a stylish and brutally frank woman of God, allegedly died from complications arising from heart attack. From Umuodo, Ezi, in Ndokwa local government area of Delta State, her low cut, with a white patch at the centre, stood her out in any gathering.

An erstwhile staff of IBM International Computers Limited, she read Computer Science and met the Apostle at a friend’s party. His boldness attracted her to him and that was how they hit it off.
