Dishonourable Honourables!
I am speechless!
The video captured an attack led by a member of the Rivers State house of assembly in an attempt to impeach the speaker of the house. The Speaker and 26 other members of the house are loyal to the governor, Rotimi Amaechi, while five others led by Evans Bapakaye Bipi, representing Ogu/Bolo constituency are loyal to President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience.
This video belongs in the archive of history......Its a shame.

ReplyDelete1) His crime is that he's Amaechi's man and they (anti-Amaechi) feel that with him there, he will cover RA's back.
2)Well they all use thugs and MOPOL to harass people and to protect themselves.
3) Exactly. 5 is a minority figure. They are doing this because they have backing from above. There is a process and i think you need a 2/3 majority for impeachment (not too sure of the figure but 5 is too small.)
4) GEJ and his wife are in China on a state visit and I read that he said RA must be removed before he gets back to ABJ. I read the Governor restored order with his security when he got to the chambers. However, people are saying the Speaker has been impeached. Abati will soon come out and say that GEJ has no hand in the brouhaha.
5) Which way Nigeria? Same old, same old. Keep watching.

To impeach a speak u don't need all the members, u just need the members PRESENT at the time of impeachment. Out of the present members you just need 2/3. Get it?
