WHO WANTS TO BE A LECTURER?
The words COMPLETE and FINISH(ED)...........Do they mean the same thing or is there a difference?
Please keep your answers straight and dont cuss out this person for wanting to know......Not everyone knows such things.
Please explain how these two words can be used in context without colliding.
Thank you

Hmmmm...plenty difference mehnnn...
ReplyDeleteWhen you marry the right woman, you are COMPLETE,
when you marry the wrong woman, you are FINISHED
when your wife catches you with another woman, you are COMPLETELY FINISHED
When you marry that woman who loves shopping, partying, travelling around the world...you are FINISHED COMPLETELY.
hehehehehehehhehe!
Hahaha this got me rolling on the floor. Well...both words can't be used interchangeably cos they mean absolutely different things.

ReplyDeleteMan is not complete until is marry but....................... completely finished once marry
ReplyDeleteComplete can also be mean fully. Ex. the steak is completely burned.
ReplyDeleteWhere finish means to end. ex
Bill finished painting.
"bill completed painting" this makes sense but to me doesn't feel right.
Bloglord nyc 1.... Gat me cracking....
ReplyDeleteJust like BLOGLORD said , which is actually credited to Samsundar Balgobin, a Guyanese linguist. Sometimes language can not be defined, explained or translated in a way that makes academic sense. Sometimes you understand the meaning only by the context of a word or by the way that it is said.
ReplyDeleteComplete is to accomplish whereas finish is to end
