Academic Staff Union Of Polytechnics Still On Strike!

      EDUCATION MINISTER WHERE ART THOU?

Students of Polytechnics in Nigeria have been at home for the past three months because their Lecturers are on strike...protesting for better pay, better working conditions...et al

It is important to note that Nigeria is sadly one Country that does not take Education and Health matters serious because the powers that be can/have their children shipped off to better schools in Europe and America whenever need be...Their wards and family go for routine medical checks...abroad

What is the Minster of Education doing to address this serious issue? Its been three months!....Three whole months of having students stay at home and be idle.

There are even no jobs in place that Students who are at home can take up temporarily till the situation is resolved...and we all know that an idle mind is the devil's workshop!

What is the Government doing about these various Academic strikes that seem to have no solution and keep rearing up in various sects?

When will Education be ever given a thumbs up in Nigeria?
Isn't it a wonder that those who school abroad come home to Nigeria and get automatic job appointment because they are looked upon as highly skilled but those who have even attained up to Masters degree level in Nigeria cannot get good automatic jobs unless they study further in the various Countries they relocated to?

The  Minister of Education, Professor Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufai should please do something about this trend of striking lecturers....she should tow the 'what a man can do,a woman can do better' line and restore back Education to what gives in the western world otherwise i have no choice but to RIP Education in Nigeria!

 What a pity!

  3. 3months and counting, Our Polytechnics are still on strike, Equivalent to a semester. That's how less concerned our Leaders feel, towards the plight of the Nigerian students. Quality and itch free Education for Nigerians is still the Prerogative of the Rich. God is propped up, on one Elbow watching Our corrupt and heartless leaders from a 10D, let his will be done in All sectors in Nigeria.

  6. God bless u for this Stella..

    1) that so called minister is a freaking puppet... Her grammar sef na die.. She does not have any agenda whatsoever for education... she is extremely dormant..

    2) polytechnics are still being highly disrespected and discriminated upon by our own Government !.. Even by d media, as no hype whatsoever has been given to this strike except for u Stella... If it was a ASUU, the whole world for here am

    3) Education is at its lowest point today, bcos it does not have a Dora Akunyili or an Okonjo Iweala type of leader to nurture it.

    May God help this Country
