TAKE HOME PAY:Which Bank In Nigeria Pays More?
This is a google image.
Most Nigerian banks have over time been accused of slavery and tasking their workers to the extreme and paying them peanuts for their hard work..............outside the story is different.
If you work in a bank, people look at you with the eyes of one who has it all.
Those people arguing on the other thread concerning this topic can come in here to address their issue and leave Stephanie Linus and her dogs alone oh.
I always wanted to work in a bank but it didnt work out and i was so sad but i do not regret it today..I am sure i would have gossiped about even the naira notes there...............LOL
So which bank is worth working for in Nigeria?Where the sweating and toiling is worth it all.
Which of them do not practice 'slavery'?
Which one's take home pay takes them home?

ReplyDeleteCBN/NDIC
ReplyDeleteYes o,people don't hear of this 2 banks but na dem b d main banks wey dey pay pass. Dier own na coded. They compete wit some oil companies
DeleteCentral Bank of Nigeria. Before any body starts abusing me, the question is which BANK...? and not which COMMERCIAL BANK...? The pay in CBN is "nothing to write home" about but the allowances are certainly "something to build homes" with.
ReplyDeleteMy sister works there! I agree with the allowance part!
DeleteGbam,my boyfriend works there and d allowances alone na die
DeleteGTB has some really high rating!
ReplyDeleteDiamond bank is still d best in terms of salary.kudos to dem. Followed by GT bank.
ReplyDeleteStanbic IBtc GTB and First bank
ReplyDeleteGuess what ? U can be in one level for 6yrs in diamond bank nd still be earning dat same amount.their pay is not a big deal
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't know for GT but for Diamond bank, is stipend
DeleteIts Diamond bank 1st, Uba 2nd and Gtb 3rd. These 3 banks pay new graduates above 200k a month. Zenith bank is a salve bank. You'l be on contract for 2yrs and still be collecting 70k and work till 11pm. Also Stanbic has now started converting their staff to contract so I don't know. This former Societe General, now known as Heritage Bank too pays very well that's why they are very coded. All in all banks here no be am but man gats work.
ReplyDeleteMy brother is suffering in zenith o!
DeleteI know the worst is Access. Tufia
ReplyDeleteThat true Heritage Bank pays well!!!! I am a prospective employee in the Bank as i av passed all d interview process! LoL can't wait for my App letter!!!!
ReplyDeleteAbeg how much be the pay? Are u entry or experienced level?
DeleteSo u passed dat their evil aptitude test?
DeleteAm entry level nd yop i passed every of the test to the very last one which waz a presentation and an essay. *Winks*
DeleteOmo wema pay graduates 30k!!!!!!I was shocked money may no reach my skul fee,dat mean as a student in skul I can employ gradutes in wema 2work 4me! Dat nt fair
ReplyDeleteLMAO!!!!
DeleteLOL
DeleteIts just too funny!
DeleteHahahahhahahahahahaha
DeleteUr mad lmao. God haahaaaa haa
DeleteDiamond bank increased salaries last year and are now number 1, followed by GTB then Uba, First bank and stanbic.
ReplyDeleteAboki Boko Haram is here. Run away from its bombs.
ReplyDeleteSUPU....wer zz BBC o!
Deletehahahhahhahhahha....see modern day slavery @ wema bank
ReplyDeleteFcmb nko? Who knows?
ReplyDeleteAll this comments are not true, all the pple I know working in banks are complaining, and off the above comments no1 has really stated if he or she worked or works there!
ReplyDeleteGet ur facts right, all banks are slave masters
Nuff'Said!
U cant always pls everyone. All those ppl u said complain may just be negative or ungrateful or just problematic. U should also get ur facts right. Nuff said. Ive seen ppl handed gold on a platter and still complain
DeleteWorking in Access bank is slavery!..NO GRATUITY!. The take home pay is not as bad as Wema bank but be rest assured that they will suck you dry. They constantly insult and humiliate their staff...reason why experienced hands run away from them.Bond their staff @ entry level for two years, change policies frequently to the detriment of both staff and customers..Have no human face...no regard for the word FAMILY...I know because I was there.... smh confused set of people!
ReplyDeleteaccessbank is reali worse. I cnt advice my enemy to wrk there and al their target is jux mny. No love, no unity among staffs. They wrk like slaves. Bt they'v 4gotten that he that oppres the poor to increase his wealth, wil come to want. May God 4gv them. tofiakwa! acces mbanu
DeleteModern day slavery at Access bank and they expect you to perform magic. The pay is ok for full staff but those on contract are poorly paid..
ReplyDeletePls how abt Citibank? Does any1 know?
ReplyDeleteCitibank pays in dollars. But they re highly selective and deal with only core areas.
DeleteDo any one know fcmb current salary
DeleteAccess Bank Plc. Terrible place to work in. Pay na peanuts! No gratuity. They ask staff to resign without even payoff. Staff are humiliated, insulted and abused. The bosses are very high handed and trickles down the entire chain. Its like making bricks without straws! Na wa sha, their story full every where. No staff loyalty, they are only there say work no dey! Das all!
ReplyDeleteWetin concern agbero with oferload
ReplyDeleteDoes it mean that Access Bank Mgt don't read or hear these comments even from their families or friends that can advice them. Staff are the no 1 asset and goodwill of any organization but the voluntary resignation even when some of these people do not have immediate places to go to says it all about the Bank. Pride comes before a fall. Treat Staff well and they will speak good of the Bank and not HR ROAD SHOW. People should please speak out about this Bank.

ReplyDeleteAccess bank worse bank, useless Aig imuokhede
ReplyDeleteDiamond bank is the worst bank!!!!!!! let me ask a question, are the so called SOL staff not humans? Why will they be treated differently?
ReplyDeleteThe "so called" contract staff do the job...these people hardly have time...work from monday to sunday non-stop. salary....55k (operations)
Prove me wrong...from 7am till 10pm without communication. Modern day slavery. and ass lickers come in here to boast of 220k being paid to entry level? Who does the job? Need i remind you that most of these so called contract staff are also graduate as these entry level.....Getting on the train is man know man. No increment or promotion for contract staff. They kept promising to do something about the 55k...up until now nothing has been done. DIAMOND BANK WAKE UP!
GTB pays well but they ensure u work for every kobo u earn. They r very short staffed and over work d few pple they have and they usually sack their staff for very flimsy reasons. First Bank is really good esp with the allowances
ReplyDeleteU sound like a staff. I'm a staff too. Ur points about GT are spot on.
DeleteI can confidently and boldly say that the defunct Oceanic Bank was the highest ever paying bank in the history of banking in nigeria. I was there from entry level till management level spanning several years. Since hurricane sanusi swept the bank off, banking in nigeria is not worth it anymore. Its slavery across board.
ReplyDeleteWhere do you work now?
DeleteFCMB KE, the bank is top heavy, they dont pay all other staffs well because the MD balogun doesn't believe in paying people well
ReplyDeleteI don't know why everybody is praising GTBank o- 211k for entry- not bad, but the wickedness is phenomenal. See how broda Segun sacked 108 people just like that 2 wednesdays ago. They just came to work and couldn't log on. That's not even the issue- if you ask me GTBank is high up there with Access sha when it comes to insults and making staff feel extremely dull. What I don't get is why the staff keep covering up until they leave. Image is everything yeah? You are helping Segun preserve the banks image abi? Or you want your friends to keep thinking you have a tapping job? Sit down there you hear?
ReplyDeletePoint of correction 143 were sacked. Since Uncle T left, working in GT has not been funny. Wot u see on d outside now is pure image polishing. D brand has become like a beautiful wife wit a dirty attitude
DeleteAll the comment about access Bank are true.Since the day the bank took over inter it has taken it as part of its target to witch hunt all former Inter staff and sack dem.Can u imagine if u are an HOP and ur Security guard do not greet a customer in Access way,u will be ask to resign,if ur cso do d same u will be asked to resigned, whereas the cso or security guard would stayed.U worked from Monday to Sunday from 7am till 11pm or beyond. No public holiday.Ask the staff, over 90percent are disgruntle but no job hence they stayed put.
Deletethank u abt oceanic bank stuff, cecila really tried for oceanic bank, now things are bad for banking industry now u can manage being in a particular position for 7 years graduate with masters no promotion or job rotation or job enrichment.every bank now na contract staff full there and they will keep reminding u dat u re a support staff bt all the work na contract staff is doing it.pls coming here to say entry level is 200k or watever, how much are they paying contract staff in ur bank and is there room for promotion.some of the these contract teaches even the so called core staff, sanusi lamido is busy causing havoc on the economy and industry unrest and banks are also cutting cost to meet the CBN policies by sacking all the time and fear full people body bcos u fit work today and tomorow no job for u.na cheap labour dey reign now.name dem VLA[its owned by momement with mo. mo abudu ,ICSL,AA RESCUE,WORKFORCE,ZENITH SECUTRITIES ETC God help us oo
ReplyDeleteWhy can't we access the comments? They aren't showing
ReplyDeleteAccess Bank is the worst bank to work... you are expected to be on top of the job at any time, yet pay you peanut at the end of the month. the University graduates on entry level are rated superior even though u as an HND holder has worked for a decade. HND holders are called SLAVES... "They are your slaves make do what you want". thank God I have moved on. most of the staff are on contract (Micheal Stevens and ICSL Integrated corporate services Ltd).
ReplyDeleteBanks! Thank God for my life. Suffering and smiling galore.
ReplyDeleteAccess bank is a slavery bank. i can say that for sure. I know of a masters degree intern who was paid 20k a month with the management expecting this intern to work 8am to 9pm, what rubbish!Even corpers were not paid that small. I like my intern, intern walked out after 6 weeks. Rubbish bank. If you enjoy slavery, go to Access.
ReplyDeleteFidelity bank pays well too, and dey don't over work their staff.6pm closing time.
ReplyDeleteSterling Bank is still one of the best banks around interms of fair polices to staff. Pay is around 150k for entry level, but I bet its an enabling environment compared to the comments I ve read abt others, especially ACCESS!
ReplyDeletewhat about standard chartered?
ReplyDeleteFirstbank? Can sumbodi tel me abt dem pls
ReplyDeleteFirstbank? Can sumbodi tel me abt dem pls
ReplyDeleteUba is a crazy place to work...ur 147k is guaranteed every 24th of d month as an etop(exec trainee on probation) but mennnn.u just book loan and make e go bad peree.u go on recovery suspension with half pay for d first 3 month and after dat no pay at all until customer pays back d loan in full...moreova no promotion...my oga has been on d same grade 4 7yrs...
ReplyDeleteI don't tink thr's anybody dt wld rily lyk 2 wrk in a bank tinkin of d harsh wrkin condition & sum banks paychecks bt we can hlp it,imagine a graduate styin @ home 4 yrs no job den e finally sees 1 u say he shldnt go 4 it..it rily suck 2 b jobless honestly, sum may nt fil it coz dey av pple dt pay dier bills...nobody is happy abt lil paycheck bt wat can u do sty @ home & starve..d only advice I av 4 any1 in dis condition is 2 pray dt God shld open doors of beta job opportunities...
ReplyDeletePls what about Wema bank.
ReplyDeleteWhat about wema bank
ReplyDeletewho knows about citi pls
ReplyDeletePlease more info about Sterling bank
ReplyDeletepls what about the quarterly pay at sterling bank for entry level?
ReplyDeleteGtbank iis slavery bank. They dont pay well. They just act big. They have the worst human resources policy since segun took over. They sack people for nothing. The best paying banks are first bank....uba... diamond...the worst is sterling.. fidelity....afribank. gt bank is somewhere near the middle... most gtbank staff are contract staff.. . I am very sure.
ReplyDeleteSterling is a dead place to work unless you know how to kiss ass and dress looking bushy. The pay isn't any thing to write home about and the culture is still in the 60's ,ur immediate supervisor is your God bcos of poor performance management system. Then its a one man bank tied to the Adeola's... If you have the Yoruba skills of high service please go dir. Fidelity pays really fantastic but its also a tribalistic place to work in.. You need to IBO to really have a smooth career dir. Then the abuse of females is high in dir due to some area managers and branch leaders greed to chop all d females they have control over. Access bank believe your life should be tied to the office,so its accepted you must close late and work on weekends too. First bank is really a class act in staff welfare and conditions of working. UBA is another good place for trainees to start up and learn the act of kissing ass well. Diamond has changed so trainees can have a good head start in knowledge.
DeleteEcobank and Stanbic should be on same par with discrimination on salary scales while Ecobank is worst becos of its man know man mentality in promotion and dealing with issues. Training you won't get dir.
Start your career off in BGL or some other places and apply to this banks after 5years and you will be way ahead of your peers who joined as trainees
Oga, your opinions about the banks above seem one-sided. While I would not completely rule out some cogent points you have highlighted for banks in general, I want to make a few corrections about Sterling bcos I work there.
Deletewhat about Union Bank?
ReplyDeletePls someone shld help us wt union bank....jst went for ma medicals dnt wanna resign frm my mortgage bank dat pays me 135k wtout enof justification.....Entry level pls!!!!!b

ReplyDeleteBanking job and its stress. Hmmmm, God, grant us our heart desire
ReplyDeletepls can some one help me with info about fidelity bank current entry level pay to freshers with Bsc.
ReplyDeleteFidelity is not a bad bank. You're given more training than you require. Promotion isn't that bad as long as you are recommended, but the pay and organogram is scary when compared with other banks, but I insist, it is the best place to work ever. I know and can beat my chest to that.
ReplyDeleteI've worked in Zenith. One of the lowest paying. Entry level is 115k increased from 108k early this year. Now they hire on contract at 70k. If not for the money, bank work is slavery especially in operations. Contrary to most views, marketing in Zenith is not as vicious.
ReplyDeleteHow much are contracts staff earning in your bank? And benefits
ReplyDeleteWhat about Heritage bank, how good is their salary structure and incentives attached? Went for their interview and they told me they have very competitive renumeration packages but didn't state how much.
ReplyDeletePlease did anybody know how much skye bank pays to industrial training students??

ReplyDeleteThis is for the enquiry about Union Bank - its not a bad place to work right now. The pay is not bad (may be 6th 0r 7th amongst banks). Also the work loan is enormous due to the transformation going on but on the other hand it presents and opportunity to shine.
ReplyDeleteWish you the very best.
