AMAA's Pregnant Foreign Guest Slapped at Port Harcourt Airport.

Africa's Most Prestigous Awards AMMA held last weekend and it was a parade of Celebrities from all over the world.

The much publicized award show ended well.....well almost until the drama that unfolded at the aiport  when one female airport security service officer slapped a foreign guest who looked about five months .pregnant

In defence, her husband landed a return slap on the face of the the Nigerian airport security service officer and the security operatives around roughened up the man who had stood up for his wife.
He was later seen with a plaster on his neck!

The pregnant lady was supposedly making stress over the delayed flight because she was scarred they would Miss their Delta Airline connecting flight from Lagos.

Veteran filmmaker Chief Eddie Ugbomah it was who helped to resolve the matter that would have degenerated into a diplomatic fiasco for Nigeria.
People kept apologizing to the aggrieved husband of the assaulted young woman who said He said he is British.

The lady who raised up her hand to slap another fellow pregnant woman needs to be sent on immediate leave,If she cannot handle customers stress, then she should stay home and watch Tv.

AMAA CEO, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe should employ more a competent professional management staff to handle the protocol of travel and accommodation for all the invited guests and drop the grossly incompetent handy men surrounding her, because they are not trained for such responsibility. Even the manager of one of the hotels where guests were lodged in Yenagoa complained that the hotel had not been paid for the accommodation of 20 guests of AMAA.

The management of AMAA blamed the new governor of Bayelsa State, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson for causing the problems encountered by their guests, BUT IT WAS ACTUALLY THE LOCAL ORGANISING COMMITTEE that is to blame .they failed to provide transportation and accommodation for all the invited local and international guests until the late hours of Friday April 19, a day to the event held on Saturday April 20.

Some guests had no water in their hotel rooms. And others had to share their rooms with cockroaches, mosquitoes and other insects.

Tourists cannot go to where there are no good hotels, no good roads and not even an airport. So, until these priorities are addressed. the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) cannot attract local and international tourists to Bayelsa and this state which is the most underdeveloped of all oil producing states in the Niger Delta is a wrong location for such an international prestigious celebrity event to host local and international movie stars and other celebrated entertainers. Even the over $3million raised at the AMAA fund raising banquet in Abuja will not be enough to attract them. Many of them were overheard murmuring that they would not even return for the next AMAA until there is an international airport and good hotels in Yenagoa, the host city.

Heres hoping the assaulted couple do not sue.

Shuo, which kin stress by customer shd warrant slap? And the fellow officers that roughen up the husband shd also go for altar call because they are def blind and stupid

  6. AMAA!!! Its not just all about inviting as many foreign stars as possible and dishing out the awards to them that will make them come back the following year. Learn to manage the local and foreign stars you invite. As you want a large array of stars there, prepare your logistics to take care of all of them.

  7. I think I heard that it was held in Bayelsa because Peace is from the Delta region and wanted to bring something positive to her home area. I can understand that but lets be realistic! If you home area CANNOT handle an event of this magnitude, please keep real and hold your even where people can feel safe, accomomdated and where logistics can be arranged without issues. There are ONLY four states/cities in Nigeria that can handle this event: Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Calabar. E no mean sey you no wan do for your own abeg, be realistic about the people you are bringing to this affair, Naija people can probably suffer and smile but all those fancy Hollywood folks y'all bringing over to feel legit, they ain't down for that ish! They smile in your face then go home and talk about y'all something terrible.

  8. Press correction: I was one of the Kenyan delegates invited to the doomed AMAAs, I was present at Port Harcourt airport, when the pregnant lady was slapped, her husband DID NOT TOUCH THE FEMALE SECURITY OFFICER AT ALL, not once, the officer lied to her cohorts who proceeded, with no evidence I might add, to pound her poor husband with punches and verbal abuse. It was a very bad impression of Nigeria for me as a first time visitor to, sadly I will never be coming back.

  10. Well isn't that just fabulous - another stereotype has been proven true - the Nigerian security are nothing but animals! I heard this incident happened minutes away from where the students were beaten to a pulp and burnt. Who in their right ming would hit a pregnant woman?! The husband DID NOT TOUCH THE SECURITY LADY, all he did was defend his wife by removing her from the situation however the security lady escalated the situation and got her fellow security guys to join her in beating the husband. They ripped his shirt, badly scratched his neck, punched him, it was a hideous scene! I hope they sue AMAAs for everything they have and more! Peace or whatever your name is if you're going to invite international guests to your event which in your delusional mind you think is on par with the OSCARS - again DELUSIONAL, you should learn 1 or 2 things about customer service and human relations. I heard you even asked the couple to apologise to the security lady?? and until they did you witheld their boarding passes? You seriously need help lady.
