Domestic Violence Victim Lives To Tell Her Story.

In April this year Mrs Mercy Nnadi woke up screaming, the room was enveloped with the smell of burning flesh...hers!

                                             Mercy After treatment/therapy

Her hubby of a few years was roasting her alive with a pressing iron and also simultanaously stabbing her with a screw driver.
Just before this monster husband descended on his wife,he had killed their one year old son!

Yesterday(wednesday november 14,2012)Mercy went live on metro fm,on the ogbonge show with Cordelia OKPEI to tell her story and thank God.

'She talked about the event. How before then they had always been regulars at the police station. Even a week before that she had gone to the station to tell them to ask the husband to give her money to go back home. Cause she didn't want the marriage again...she feared her life was in danger
She went on to say it was a lie that she had the late child with her father-in-law (the man had accused her of that).
Her jailed hubby claimed to hear voices...same that told him to kill the son.
On the day of the incident she fell asleep around three am whilst the hubby was ironing some clothes(he's a laundry man) only to wake up to him using screw driver to tear her flesh and roast it with hot iron at the same time.
Mercy who has been going through therapy only got to know last week that her child did not survive the brutal attack of the man who is supposed to be his father.
Three NGO's really worked to help her. They include,Project Alert, zahara (based in Canada) and COD.
The Lagos state deputy gov helped a lot. The state paid over 800k of the over a Million naira bill. The akwa ibom first lady also donated something to help.
She has been rehabilitated and hopes to go into selling of food items.
The money left over from her hospital bill has been used to rent her a room apartment and furnished for her to start a new life.'

Mercy ended her interview by calling on the Nigerian Police to stop making a caricature of women who run to them with domestic abuse cases.if they had listened to her what happened would have been avoided!

This now brings me to the question...Would  a lot of lives be saved if the police intervenes in domestic abuses cases or do they ignore it because most of them are probably guilty of such?

  1. I'm glad she survived it & very impressed & proud of all the companies & pple who helped with her bills, that goes to show there's still hope for humanity. As for the police, they're guilty of such themselves so they're hopeless. The Nigerian pple she start learning how to protect themselves if we want 2 survive all these possessed mad pple out there.
