Huhuonline.com checks reveal that Motunrayo allegedly hung herself with a rope after she was jilted by her “sugar daddy”.
Huhuonline.com sources reveal that the deceased had served as a longtime mistress to a well-known business tycoon (Name Withheld), who resides in Lagos with his wife and children. However trouble started when the business man ended the relationship because his wife had discovered that he was having extramarital affairs, and threatened to divorce him.
The late banker, Motunrayo, had hoped to become his second wife, but the wife of businessman, who is alleged to be heavily invested in his business, threatened him with divestment, and turned his home into a battle ground. Thus, in order to deescalate the tension in his home, he reluctantly dumped Motunrayo.
However, according to family sources, Motunrayo did not take the rejection well, "Since then, she had not remained herself as a result of the incident. She had done everything to bring back the man to no avail. She could not control the emotional trauma and so ended up taking her life,” a family member affirmed.
Huhuonline.com learnt that Motunrayo, a graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Lagos, had fallen deeply in love with the married man, who was very instrumental to her growth at the banking sector. He ensured she always got colossal deposits from himself and other business associate; hence she always met her target. "She was sponsored by her lover (The business tycoon) to pursue her Master’s degree abroad," a source added.

ReplyDeleteI really, really, really HOPE that is NOT the reason she ended her life. Over a married man? Seriously? Wow! I refuse to believe that someone would take their life over a man not wanting them, a man unavailable from get go, nahhhhhh I can't believe it.
ReplyDeleteThis is what the devil does to lifes that are sold out to him. What a waste.
ReplyDeleteME
Is this really necessary? Please let her soul rest. It's painful enough for family memebers going through her loss. Why do blogs have to publish speculations? May her soul rest and may her family find peace and strength in God.
ReplyDeleteIF this is true, i still emphasis on the 'IF' then it is really sad... but murder should not be overlooked.

people rtalk about blogs and other news media leaving the dead alone, but i beg to differ. it is news after all, and its one of the reasons u log on to the site in the 1st place. despite all the talk about abstinence, condoms have record sales every yr; with all the talk about gossip not being good, "city people magazine" sells like wildfire. we all can't do without it. kapisce!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope this is not true.. and really.. no reason is good enough to take ones life.
ReplyDeleteMy prayers are with her family.
I also hope this is not true. What a foolish girl to be running about with an even foolisher married man at 26. But she can't be that foolish that she'll take her life because he "left" her. How can you leave what you didn't have to start with.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I am not from the school of thought that you have to cook up "nice words" in order not to speak ill of the dead.
Some comments are quite naïve...what is all this talk about how terrible it is (for a muslim lady) to date a married man? Aren't 4 wives allowed in that religion? Isn't polygamy part of our culture as africans? So if ones culture and religion allows them to aspire to be 2nd or 3rd wife and she is jilted, don't u expect that it will take the same emotional toll as it would if she was to be wife number one. Not condoning what she did and - wish she had found help before this, but I feel many of you are judging her (not even for the suicide) without taking some vital facts into consideration. RIP Motunrayo, we pray for God's eternal love to be with you. For anyone out there going through some confusing emotions, TALK to someone!!
ReplyDeleteshe was not a moslem
ReplyDeleteat anonymous, it is quite clear you are the naive one here! so because Islam says 4 wives,to a man, then he should marry up to that huh?
ReplyDeleteaccording to the history of ISLAM, it was clearly stated IF you can love ALL equally. The PROPHET married the widows of his warriors, so as to give them a home, protection and food and encouraged his followers to do the same so as to help the widows! But men being what they are, definitely turned the doctrine to suit their lust and home-wreckers their greed!
polygamy is an africa culture because of the farm work! not because of love, but to have many children so as to help out on the vast land of farming. there were no education then, children had to follow their parents trade or learn from another and because of war and feminine and diseases that ravaged the lands then, people have many wives and children to keep the family lineage from wiping out! but now, it is DIFFERENT!
the economy problem or depression had come to make people realize the STUPIDITY in having a polygamous marriage! NOTHING good ever comes out of POLYGAMY! anybody that says so, {like you} is just been economical with the truth! monogamy marriages have enough problems of it's own, not to talk of POLYGAMY!
she desired to be a second wife huh? why not for a poor guy if it is love? abeg! let me hear word o jare! nobody is condemning, her, she had already judged herself by committing suicide, for cursed is anyone that hangs from a tree!
so please keep your IGNORAMUS MIND TO YOURSELF!
This story is so not true cos i know her personaly...She was jilted alright but not by a married man or sugar daddy, she had a boyfriend of 3+ years and he left after her womb was removed cos of ciest that had being growing in her....She felt lost cos she was not going to have a child and the only person whom she hoped would understand didnt...She was a bubbly person and lived life to the fullest until her emotions took the better part of her reasoning faculty.....its sad when people just say things that are not true about the dead but hey: life they say is for the living....
