ReplyDeleteIts unfortunate, but why do you think Naija women don't commit suicide. What people need to learn is that no other person is worth your own life, she would have found someone else how old is she. I am 35 no boyfriend but will not kill myself, when the time is right i will find the right person.

ReplyDeletePoint of correction, she studied Economics at the University of Lagos, and was one of the best graduating students. Secondly your speculations couldn't be further from the truth... It'll be nice to show some credibility by getting your story right, if you do not buy the story one bit, why post it?...All this post is going to bring is various negative comments from people who have no idea. ReplyDeletethere is nothing wrong in putting up the article or expressing reservations.what if she didnt comit suicide and someone was trying to stage it as if she did? after all we have seen a lot of that in western crime scenes.besides this doesnt look the kind that will commit suicide or pine away in depression because a guy called off the wedding.

Why are people ragging on Stella for reporting the news of a young lady committing suicide and expressing doubt about the situation? Isn't that what journalist are supposed to do, report the news, offer other angles to a story and invite people to look deeper? I do not think Stella has in anyway disrespected this young lady's memory and her view that suicide is not part of our culture especially a woman is not off the cuff, afterall in the West that is what is called profiling, i.e. a means to understand the psychology behind a person and their act.
ReplyDeleteI am not saying that suicide is a total impossibility in our culture but women are more prone to use pills and wrist cutting than to put a noose around their neck and kick the proverbial bucket. Men tend to commit suicide that way as well as by gun shot. So, Stella is not amiss in her analysis.
Someone wrote on Linda Ikeji's blog that the young lady had got a cyst removed from her ovaries and that she might possibly have not been able to have children which caused the fiance to call off the wedding which sent her into a downward spiral. I do not know what the story is but if Stella had not posted it, I wouldn't ahve known about her at all since I do not live in Nigeria. I do pray that God will grant her family peace and comfort in this difficult season of their life. This will weigh on the young man's life forever, I pray for peace for him as well.

Let's ask questions, if she actually hung herself, did she leave any cue, letter stuffs like dat, sucide vicitm overtime due such, the tend to transfer the aggressive and truma they have been tru to a letter of viedo, pls this needs to be investigated

Its been happening. Most families hide the cause of death in disgrace. B4 u decide to toil with sme1 emotions pls pls think twice!

ReplyDeleteNot Exactly thinkinh suicide ois a rarity or an impossibility but one would imagine that for a bbabe to comit suicide cus her man left her,it has be a babe that imagines it will be difficult to get some other guy but hey! This babe whose picture I see here woulda gotten a better guy with time but the people handle hearytbreaks differently. Well,we can only state our sentiments as people on the other side,based on the little facts available.However,God,in his omnipotence and Omnipresence knows that which we do not know,He sees that which we do not see,Whatever woulda prompted or caused the death of this beautiful soul either by commission or omission,may she find peace in the place where she is now.May the Good Lord grant her Family,friends and all those who mourn her directly,rthe fortitude to bear the loss. My heart particularly is with her Mum,God would comfort hher Specially.IT IS WELL.
