JP2025 - Fashion Designer Veekee Slammed For Saying Holy Spirit Inspired Her To Create Wedding Dress

Evangelist, Benita Okeke, has publicly criticized celebrity fashion designer Veekee James for claiming the Holy Spirit inspired her to create the wedding dress worn by Priscy Ojo, daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, during her lavish JP2025 wedding

Veekee James had earlier recounted that divine inspiration guided her in designing the white wedding gown for Priscy, stirring reactions across social media.

In a video shared on her Instagram page, Evangelist Okeke condemned the claim, describing the dress as “indecent” and unbefitting of Christian values.

“The dress was not decent. It wasn’t modest clothing. “Will the Holy Spirit really lead you to make a cloth that is revealing and exposes parts of the body that are supposed to be covered?”
She questioned the alignment of such a claim with biblical principles, emphasizing that the nature of God promotes modesty and decency.

“If you say the Holy Spirit led you to sew a cloth that isn’t appropriate for a Christian, then it becomes a license for indecency,” she added. “A cloth you wouldn’t even wear to church—how can that be of the Holy Spirit?”

    2. Asin eeh... I was still applauding how Nigerians focused on the couple of the moment all the while even though Veekee James was a significant part of their wedding prep. Because it's becoming a norm that even if she sneezes, people will have a problem with it. And just when I was saying we don dey try, then boom! Here we go again🤦.

People should allow that woman drink water and drop cup in peace biko.

    3. Fan, anyhow you people sugar coat it, bear in mind that any spirit that guides you to do something that is contrary to what's written in the book of law(scriptures) is not the Holy Spirit. Choose now, the spirit you will believe in. Do you choose the one directed by the evil spirit in disguise as holy spirit or the pure Holy spirit itself? We all know the truth but over wokeness makes us to pretend as if we don't know or we careless about what's written in the scriptures. People should sin their sin and keep the Holy Spirit out so that other generation to come won't think it's a normal thing to do.

  2. The Holy Spirit inspired her but the bride prefer the style of the dress.

Why is it that an average Nigeria will attack anything that brings glory to the name of Jesus?

That's the spirit of anti-christ and they are now everywhere.

Children of God be careful so you are not drawn into their circle.

    2. It was the choice of the bride; she didn't have a say.
      She's just rendering a service!!

      Delete
    3. Acenene, did any of the critics condemn her for rendering her service? The holy spirit is involved here and that's what those who genuinely care about God are trying to correct. Afterall she's not the only person that renders service to the public so why should she be the only one we choose to condemn. If you really like truth, you would call her out for lying against the holy spirit.

      Delete
    4. Acenene she drew the styles before the bride chose it, if she hadn’t done that the bride wouldn’t have seen it to choose.

  7. I was wondering why the cleavage was open and not covered and a man of God was joining them in holy matrimony. Rccg would not permit such a wedding dress. Why open chest when your husband is your forever man. The way people fight for immorality this days amazes me.

  8. Awon slammers!!!! It’d be the ones that have absolutely nothing to offer to any industry! They now live with the Holy Spirit to know who it inspired and didn’t inspire!!!!

  9. Wetin God go judge go plenty ..if it was HolySpirit inspiration, you won’t even want to please the bride by making what she likes but doing what the spirit says cos you want to please God ❗️na wah

    1. Only you have seen and spoken the truth her so far.

Everybody be attacking to the extent of turning blind eyes to something that's immoral.

Someone up there is even using genz churches as example.

Everybody that speaks in tongue means it's of the holy spirit?

People that would be in the act of fornication/adultery and be speaking in tongues.

They come and start shouting that grace differs.

If you want to sin, sin in peace like us with your full chest and stop blaspheming the Holy spirit and hiding behind the name of God to commit.

God is not your mate even though he's merciful.

    1. If you don't want to carry righteousness in your head then stop involving the holy spirit because you and I know that the Holy Spirit cannot inspire you to do anything that is contrary to what's in the scriptures. Abi I like? Can you quote me wrong using same scriptures you believe in? Or are you not a Christian? If you are not for God, then shift to where you belong and stop deceiving other people. Denny God with your full chest.

I used supposedly because, Priscy got unequally yoked with an unbeliever which is against God's principles.

    2. Anon, no one is ready for that conversation ooo. If you talk you'll be termed a hater and all. Some one who claims to be a Christian with a prayer warrior mummy decided to marry a Muslim and the most surprising was even seeing Pastor Ituah officiate the wedding. This Christianity sha na only God go help us o.

The best gift you can give your children is the fear of God. Not even Education. Many very Educated children are a total disgrace to their parents. Only the fear of God can make you refuse to do certain things no matter how appealing it is.

  19. As a believer, once you yield to Christ, you will definitely be led by the holy spirit, which is a spirit from God. She might have been led by the spirit but added more designs In the front pattern to make it more..... idunno...

Alot of people out there are still struggling to overcome the power of sin and might commit fornication/adultery seeing an attire like this.
(Matthew 5:27) Who ever looketh on a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery with her already in his heart.

The dress was too revealing especially at the upper region. (Roman 14:13-23) Says do not cause another to stumble instead let's encourage and help especially those who are weak to live above sin.

You are even the one doing oversabi by trying to misguide the naive ones into believing that the scriptures doesn't condemn indecency. What kind of oversabi is greater than the one you and your group are doing by turning the scriptures to suit your desires? Is there any oversabi that is worse than that?

    Mostly corset and beaded gowns.
The burst and hip area are always obvious and attractive.
Though her finishing is actually neat.

  22. In this era of 21st-century woke Christianity, where being a Christian is about simply engaging in religious activities while embracing a worldly lifestyle, God bless you, Okeke, and I commend your boldness in speaking the truth.

If a pastor's wife or a gospel artist wore this, I wonder what people would say. I suspect what acclaimed believers don't understand is that the moment you give your life to Christ, God holds you to the same standards He holds others, whether you stand in front of the pulpit or not. It's fine to be a baby Christian for a while; Jesus Christ gives grace for every point you are in your spiritual journey, and He is patient to watch you grow. But after a while, you are expected to move from drinking baby milk to solid food and become a mature Christian.

At that point, Christ expects that His presence in your life transcends your personal relationship with Him and thoroughly permeates every facet of your life, including your relationships, interactions with others, and even your profession.

Even Cuppy had to stop chasing after the DJ career because she sees it clashes with her walk with Christ and creates a dilemma. That is why the Bible says, "In everything you do, let it be to the glory of God alone." You should only seek God's glory. Pray tell, how does this cleavage-exposing dress bring Him glory?

This talented fashion designer claims to be a believer, so whether she likes it or not, it is meant to show in her work. She may lose some clients, but it shouldn't matter because she lives for what she stands for. I can't wrap my head around how she wasn't convicted in her spirit while making the upper part of the dress.

  23. The dress is beautiful and lovely but no be Holy Spirit inspire am...we should, especially Christians be mindful of what we ascribe to the Holy Spirit. For those saying God deals with the heart; you are right but as you move along in fellowship with Him, you find yourself being attracted to modesty. You cannot be walking half naked and claim your heart is clean.
Let's put social media following and influence aside...she can claim inspiration for this dress from anywhere but not the Holy Spirit.

    1. Exactly. Fornication is now widely accepted as if it is a good thing, what's good is good, and whats bad is bad. When you address it in public, people term it as being judgmental, is it not better you get judged on earth than judged on the last day. No abeg on the Last day oooo.
Make a decision on whose side you're on now before it is too late. Life is a choice.

Heaven will not shock anybody. These are the things you lot say that makes believers who are still coming up in their christain walk and trying to be better to throw caution to the wind while abusing the grace of God. Heaven will only shock those who do not have an understanding of God's word and refuse to heed to godly warnings.

This is not disqualificstion but godly admonition
