The President, who expressed shock at the dastardly act on Thursday, directed Police and other security agencies to conduct swift and thorough investigations and punish the suspected culprits.
President Tinubu commiserated with the families of the affected victims and assured them that criminals would not be allowed to shed the blood of innocent Nigerians in vain.
The President noted that jungle justice has no place in Nigeria, and all Nigerians have the freedom to move freely in any part of the country.
President Tinubu commended the Edo State governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and community leaders in Uromi for their swift response to avert the escalation of tension.
They should slso direct manhunt for those raping and killing women in their farms.
ReplyDeleteI saw the video and I must say, it's terrible. No one has the right to take someone's life. They should have handed them over to the police but then I blame the government and security operatives. Severally in the past, when people like this are arrested and taken to the police, they're usually set free without investigation or prosecution. Sometimes they come back to attack the community for taking them to the police.
ReplyDeleteSecondly. It will be too bad of me to justify this gruesome murder but then I'll blame the government for it. If precedence was set when Deborah was killed by the government in prosecuting those who perpetrated that act, I don't think people will involve in jungle justice.
The government always turn a blind sight when a particular section of the country commit acts like this but quivkbto descend when it is other section of the country.
