DeleteI made jollof rice yesterday at night. It came out like party jollof. When I checked the sachet tomato mix I bought, it was written party jollof. I just smiled. I guess that sachet tomato mix has pepper in it and unknowingly to me, I still added another Cameroon pepper to it. Omooh, my party jollof turned to Yoruba rice eeeh. I dey eat dey sneeze. Later had running nose as a result of the pepper.

DeleteSo I think I’ve mentioned here previously the times I baked agege bread (I think about 3 times) and they all turned out to be something else. The issue was that my dough was always sticky even when I follow whatever recipe I’m following. So I just gave up.
ReplyDeleteWas bored at home yesterday evening and started looking for something to do, that’s how I decided to try and bake bread again oh since I have all the ingredients at home.
This time around, I decided to not just use the recommended water (I use liquid milk tho) measurement they write and just use something lesser and add them gradually.
I also didn’t use my previous mixer but used a new processor from ninja blender (that’s supposed to double as a dough maker) and people of God, for the first time in my life, I got a perfect dough. Like the ones in the video. Not sticky at all. I didn’t even have to add flour to my work surface before rolling my dough, only butter and there was no single dough sticking to the surface. I almost cried from Joy.
As soon as the dough formed, I just jejely went to cook beans because what is agege bread without water water beans?
Bread came out alright though but I want to believe it could have been softer and I had a feeling that some parts inside were not totally done even though my husband thought it was perfectly cooked.
And people should stop writing that thing that one way to check if ur dough is perfectly done inside is by sticking a toothpick. I didn’t that and my stick came out squeaky clean but the first time I brought it out, my dough wasn’t done on the inside.
Will be frying chinchin today now that I know how to get a non sticky dough 😘

DeleteSDK surgery healing is a gradual process and with time you will not feel any more pain from it. I had surgery in 2019 (not same with yours) and felt my life was useless cos i couldn't do anything by myself. What i didn't like to eat i was forced to eat cos if i do not corporate everyone will stay away from me. I saw life from another side. It wasn't easy with my recovery process cos after six month i was still not able to do stressful work like carry a bucket of water, bend for a while. Today i cannot remember such anymore.
ReplyDeleteThe lord will heal you and give you the strength to become you again. Take your time and heal well, no hurry in life for anything at all. Put on hold anything that will add to your stress cos you don't need it right now.
Those things a woman will have to do to her husband is plenty oh, i know that if one start to practice them it will be work over.
