Visiting the morgue is a humbling experience.
ReplyDeleteWhen we got to the main door . There was an inscription boldly .WE WER ONCE LIKE YOU.
Immediately I saw this door. My heart started beating faster. Fear gripped most of us. I started walking slowly as If I'm about fainting.
To be honest I started sweating profusely and my legs became weary I couldn't stand anymore.
We were welcomed by the mortician. He gave us lecture on what we are about to do, because we're asked to dissect dead body which we call cadavers to observe the human body and what it's made of.
Before the assignment he took us round. More than fifty dead bodies lying down on the floor, some naked while some half naked . Men , women and one that broke my heart so much are kids 😭😭Some with different hair styles.
Most of us started crying and we were asked to go out through another exit, where another inscription boldly written. YOU WILL SOON JOIN US.
This experience will definitely influence my future practice.
One gets to understand the futility of life's hustles and how vulnerable the flesh is.
Never will I want to see such to depressing environment.
I want to be better than yesterday, I want to be more humble. I want to be more forgiving and I want to be more humane than before because I have seen that life is nothing and death is certain and it is a leveller of status in life.
Maybe I will continue the story.
