Chronicle Of Polygamous Brouhaha - Must Read.

They had a perfect life until shocking discoveries were made in 2001..
This story will leave your mouth hanging loose....

She was a beautiful, tall, slender, mulatto banker in her 20s. She had a lot of suitors going crazy after her, but she kept playing hard-to-get. One fine day, a brief, not-so-handsome man walked into her office. He was in his 30s. He came to make a complain about his account, they got cordial and became friends – because they were from the same village (you know the Eastern state where they prefer marrying themselves).

One thing led to another and they started dating. She had more money than him and when people asked why she agreed to be with a basic guy without good looks, she would say she wants a man who won’t give her stress and worships the ground she walks on. He finally proposed, she accepted, they got married, moved into her apartment and she handed her car keys to him. She supported him with all she had, until luck smiled on him and he got a very good job in an oil and gas organisation.

They got blessed with children – 4 girls. And were doing so well financially, that they were the envy of everyone. He loved his wife and girls and seemed to have no time for anything else. When she had the last girl, she had complications.

The doctors told her not to bother trying for another child, as it may cost her her life. Now, this meant she won’t be able to give her husband the male child her looked forward to having. He told her he was okay and loved them no less. His family kept putting pressure and to relieve the pressure and she came up with an idea. They would fake a pregnancy, they would adopt a baby boy, they would tell everyone she went to have a baby abroad, she would show up months later with a male child and everyone would be happy. It would be their little secret and her husband would then be able to speak amongst men.

He agreed and everything went as planned. Testimonies were given during dedication on how ‘God’ defied doctor’s report and opened up her womb. The boy child was a ‘miracle’ baby and everyone TTCing kept tapping into it all. By this time, she was a deaconess in church, even though he wasn’t the church-going type, he always supported her.

Shortly after, he was transferred to another state to head a department. He would leave on Monday morning and always returned on Friday evening to be with his family for the weekend. This went on for years. He discouraged his wife from coming to see him, stating stress as the reason. And with the business he set up for her and their growing kids, 4 days apart every week wasn’t bad. This went on for years.

On his birthday this particular year, she thought to surprise him. She put the driver on the road, with food in the boot, went to the other state, found her way to his office. She made enquiries about where he lives from the security stating she was his wife and she wanted him to come home to a surprise. They quickly cooperated. She got to his place, knocked on the gate and told the gate man who she was. That one declined saying he knows oga’s wife and she wasn’t the one.

They got into an argument and the next door neighbour overheard them – an elderly woman in her sixties. So elderly woman asked that she come in and take a rest while they wait for him to come back. She did just that. While sipping a glass of water, she explained to elderly woman what happened, and was shocked at the woman’s sarcastic expressions. Elderly woman insisted she waits for him to return. Few hours later, his car horn blares and before he could settle in elderly woman sends a message to him to come that please it is a matter of life and death. He rushes in to address this ‘serious issue’, only to see her seated in the living room.

He got angry. Asked her why she was here without his permission. Asked her to go back to their base as he doesn’t want to see her here. He was so upset and she started crying because she didn’t understand. He told her to go back to their base immediately, that he would be back over the weekend; then they can discuss better. As he stormed out in anger, elderly woman consoled her and told her that everyone in the neighbourhood is aware he was married. He was married to a woman who isn’t the one sitting in her living room and that they have 3 children together. Elderly woman stated that she was also confused.

She brought out their mini family portrait from her wallet and showed elderly woman to confirm he is her husband and the father of her 5 children. That they have been married for almost 20 years – traditionally and religiously. She couldn’t understand what had just happened. Elderly woman asked her to calm down, gave her a place in the guest room to sleep. Also asked the driver to come in, offload all the food for the surprise dinner and call it a day in the BQ.

Elderly woman insisted that they get some fresh air and leave the next day, as it was unsafe to travel on a 5-hour trip at that time of the day. She agreed, even though she spent the night crying.

She drove straight to her pastor's house the next day. Weeping and wailing. He had deceived her. He had another family, she was unaware, she was inconsolable. Pastor tried comforting her and asked her to bring him to counselling when he returns for his usual weekend family time. The only thing was he didn't return that weekend or the next. He showed up 3 weekends later - with an attitude. At her insistence, they showed up at pastor's house to discuss with the counsellors.

Things got into a heated argument,, they called each other names and he revealed their little secret: Everyone's favourite deaconess was a liar who faked a pregnancy and gave a testimony about a male child she didn't birth.

He sought for a male child a year after her last girl was born. He married the 2nd wife traditionally and legally, she gave him a girl first and a boy later, followed by another girl. His family was aware as they had participated in the ceremony and helped him keep a secret. His elder brother who was a pastor in a big church was also aware. He had been running 2 families and neither of them knew. Everything was going according to plan until she pulled that surprise stunt that has now confused his life.

As the narration went on, she kept weeping. Since she had been exposed, pastoral team asked that the meeting be adjourned. It was too much expose for one day. At the adjourned meeting he insisted both wives were relevant. One stood by him when he had nothing, the other one bore his heir. He would let go of none. Everyone should cooperate and live in peace.

She insisted she wouldn't. she reminded him of all the sacrifices she made, including quitting her bank job to be with him in another state. He reminded her of all the aid vacations and her booming business.... vacations she went on with her adopted son, a child he could care less about. He felt she had been fully compensated with a very good life. He won't be painted as the bad one.

He returned to his official base. she told her daughters who were so heartbroken. By this time, 2 were in university. He cut them off from financial supplies, locked up her store, seized her passport and told her to build the home without him. She agreed and started getting her hands on everything she could to make an honest living.

Their living standards dropped, their once loving family torn apart, the girls heartbroken, everything changed. Her family showed support by sending one of the girls abroad to further, that was a relief. He came one day and the adopted boy who had missed the man he called dad, cried and cried and asked to follow him. He agreed and took the boy to live with the other woman. The other woman was not kind. She didn't treat the boy well.

When he returned to her for holiday, he was given a charm by the other woman, to put under her bed so she would die. He did, but she survived. He woke up the next day crying and apologising. he was only a child and had thought her death would make his father love him more. At this discovery, she cut all ties with him. Took her son back and decided to stay prayerful........

*Please come and finish this story!!!

  8. Now this is a story! Thanks Stella for publishing. She should come and finish what she started. Nice to know that Stella wasn't the one that "chop am".

Hope others will learn to present their story this way.

    The lesson so far:
Do not marry a spouse whose faith in God is questionable! A spouse who has no fear of God!

  9. 2 legal wife?? That's bigamy
    That doesn't happen
Unless he wedded one of them or both of them in a church where they don't issue marriage certificate that can be verified by the court..

There is a reason it takes more than 2 weeks after you give your name in the court before marriage.

Oh well, what do I know??

Also, is it one person writing all the stories?? They all have same touch

  11. I can't miss the undertone of the story teller that she deserves what she got from the opening sentences. She was cautious of her choice and though didn't take deligent steps. Yes a man who is accountable to God will honour his family.
So the evil family were pressurising the woman so she could leave. They were aware he had another family.

  19. The man is very wicked.

    Queen and Boss aka CHIEF
Nne it is very possible since the 2nd wife is not from the same village with the man.
He can do a small parlour get together marriage by collecting the list for bride price, traditional wedding and pay cash without celebrating it.

    It is very possible.

  27. Anyone that doubts this story is on a long thing.

It happened to me. In my own case. We were married for 4 years without a child. we leave in different states. He went and married a second wife traditionally. Most of his close friends and family members were aware of the traditional wedding. Its one of my husbands younger brothers wife that called to tell me what has happened. I felt like dying. I could not believe what I heard. But before then, he has been giving alot of excuses why he will not come home during weekends. If he is around he will guide his phone seriously. I finally left the marriage. Yet to get married again. I could not bear the pain and deceit.

Things happen o especially when couples leave apart.
