Queen’s dowry have been paid which made her legally married to Oga now as the second wife but she was still taking some instructions from the first wife Elizabeth. Both of them are still cooking together but the dishing of the food was basically Elizabeth’s duty.
One day, oga came back home with two wrappers for the wives. He bought the same material for both of them which he handed to Elizabeth and Queen. This did not go down well with Elizabeth. What? You mean I will share the same kind material with my maid? God forbid? She took her own material and set it on fire. To her, she’s just my maid. Oga, ignored the drama because he loves her so much.
On a fateful day, Elizabeth prepared okro soup and dished Queen’s portion for her. Queen, your food is in the cupboard, go and take your food. But because she was still busy with house chores she told her she will eat when she’s through with her chores. God’s mercy can never be taken for granted. She pressured her to eat but she refused. The food was still in the cupboard. Meanwhile after so much attempts, Elizabeth delivered another baby boy Samuel who should be like four years then.
Seeing that Queen did not give in to her pressure, she went to her room to attend to some issues. Few minutes later, nobody knew when Samuel went to the kitchen, opened the cupboard which was not locked with key and took the okro soup that was meant for Queen. He sat down and scoop the soup like hungry child. The poor boy was still on it when he started feeling pains, he cried out in pain that drew attention of people especially his mother.

On sighting the son with the plate of okro soup, she screamed Ewoooo!!!!!!!!! , quickly, ran into the kitchen to check the cupboard and found out it was the Queen’s soup. She gave him palm oil to alleviate the pain and utilize the efficacy of what caused the stomach ache. She dashed out of the compound with the boy without responding to anyone’s questions. By the time she came back the boy was a dead being. Nobody knew the explanations she gave oga but he did not say much about the dead of his son Samuel. The food that was meant for Queen was poisoned by the first wife Elizabeth who could not stand the rivalry of having her maid as co- mate.
Queen could not sleep. What would have happen to me if I had eaten the okro soup? How come Samuel develop stomach ache immediately he scoop the soup? Did Elizabeth plan to poison her but end up killing her own son? This and many more was running through her mind. Sadly, she could not discuss it with the husband because oga never made an issue out of it. Should I run for my life with my kids? But where will I go to since I don’t have parents anymore? What should I do? Were the numerous questions on her mind.......

ReplyDeletePolygamous is not just for anyone, if you know yourintention is to do evil as a woman please don't go into polygamous marriage and as a man if you know you can act equally among the wives please respect yourself and stay out of it too.
