      Iyawo mi means my bride.
      Aya mi means my wife.

      Iyawo afesona - bride to be
      Iyawo - bride
      Iyawo asesegbe - new bride/newly wedded

      But because most people are used to hearing iyawo, iyawo wa, and etc they assumed for years that it means wife. It actually means bride. Used during marriage rites and for a while for a newly wedded wife.

      The aya is just smthn older ppl use or if you want to speak like the old folks or village ppl.

      'Aya' and 'Iyawo' both mean wife. 'Aya' is just more of a deeper dialect than 'iyawo' which is from the usual regular Yoruba.
      Hope that makes sense. Lol

      Dear Anon,
      The Mrs doesn't define me. That was a nickname given to me by my friends when he proposed. Which was about 7 years ago, and the name stuck. Even my mum calls me MrsB.
      Don't get your knickers twisted over something so irrelevant Biko. Its way too early in the day or week for this.

    Yay if true. I love them both, Love the woman she's grown to become and that beautiful voice! Demola is also a superb actor. Loved him in October 1st and Before Thirty. Haven't seen the new one where Omotola played his mum but I'm sure it'd be aces as well.
