As a person you feel all is well and you are normal, but wow! There are loads of people who aren't normal, crazy, extremely nice and even witches! (Lol!, I think literally).
The Boyz: So I get a request at the Palms mall to pick up a guy, he was already sounding rude, but I shrugged it off (man must hustle isn't it?) so I get there and I see three dudes, the oldest should be about 24! They enter my car they ask for car charger, sadly I have just 1 port working and my phone was draining, then they ask for Aux, sadly again, my aux just packed up! Then one of them starts grumbling!, anyways, the ride starts and the next thing one of them wants to smoke and am like bro, they don't smoke in this car and he replied: 'bullshit, do you know who you are carrying' and I turn and say
who and he replies 'You are carrying bad guys' huh??
Because u smoke cigarettes you are bad guys? Wow!
I had no choice I allowed them, these boys carried me to barb their hair, buy swift recharge card, took me through long turns, and while I complained, the one who asked for charger earlier kept irritating me, at one point I got fed up and wanted to end the trip, the cigarette boy starts to spasz and says take me home or I will bust bust everywhere!

I was outnumbered obviously, I just had to comply, eventually we move to the destination, (Sangotedo)after spending more than 4hrs, thinking my money would have piled up, only for Uber to charge them 3,500

Destination: Langbasa! So I ask is it after the second round about after Ajah? Next thing she says 'Don't you know The Island' with a harsh tone and I ask, is there anything wrong with what I asked?
Omo next thing, young lady took it personal! That what rubbish! I am rude, that must she talk to me? That is it by force to have a conversation? And am here shell shocked ! I ask 'is there a problem madam'?
Why are you being worked up? She flares up the more, that am crazy, and that she has 'Ulcer', that if she faints in my car, I will take her to the nearest hospital and am like huh? I replied her trying to even pacify her, then she starts giving me history, that she has a kid, I shouldnt look at her because she's small and that she lost a relative, and am like 'Madam why all this history?'
I didn't ask you for any of these' she kept on rambling till we got to Addo! and am like madam I have one question o!, Has your Ulcer gone? Because you have been rambling from Victoria Island, she flares up the more and starts saying If I swear for you it won't be well with you blah blah!
Ok I decided to apologise, but Nooooo! She wasn't taking any of that, she was like 'sorry for yourself'! Hmmmmn
(Mind you, before then I have never had bad ratings or report from any rider) then all of a sudden, my ratings start to drop! Reports here and there, things weren't just going my way, all these wrapped up in one week! Phew! Then I realized omg! That lady must have really been a witch!
Well I prayed to the Almighty and Thank God some sanity!....Ratings are going up gradually, no more reports!...

ReplyDeleteMet with a driver who comforted me while I cried from my exboy friend's house to mine. He even bought me plantain chips and have me tissue to blow my nose.Lol. He listened to all my stories of heart break and even took my side. Lol. Would have loved to retain him for personal trips because I hardly see cars from my side to anywhere but the shame was too much.
Had another who made me laugh all through. He was on the phone with his mother and kept apologising all through. He is a student who used his friend's car to make some money on the side. Good and enterprising guy.
Had a female who was busy forming bad bitch. she was too self conscious for my liking. I really did admire her for confidently driving an uber but it was obvious that she was uneasy with it. Girl if you want to do something be proud. I actually admire you to those money for hand back/knees for ground girls.
Then I had the man who did not have fuel. Oga used a.c. when he did not have fuel. Was stuck at the toll gate until he called another to come pick me up. Was upset but I did not give him a bad rating. He looked like life had planted a lemon tree on his head. Felt for him.
Above all most are polite and the trips are cosy. Is it just me or have the fares sort of increased lately...

Hello uber driver a piece of advise as a colleague in the business pls uber is not the one that charge them low you are the one that allowed it when they request for a ride they put pick up and drop off destinations so if they are going to deviate from their route all you need to them is to put the destination in the app that way uber get the notification and bill them and if they say no they can't force you to deviate from the original route without them paying for it because it is in the rules that guide we the driver it says if the rider ask for extra movement if we are comfortable with it we can and if not they should put it in the app for forward movement so next time someone ask you deviate from their initial route ask them to put it in their route so that you can get paid cause it is not for free

ReplyDeleteIf your car is dirty, has strong cigarette smoke, no ac, you turn on your music like roadside seller with no care if your passenger wants some peace and quite, you are grumpy and rude, can't discern if your passenger wants to talk or not, drive rough etc....you will get a low rating. You are not doing them a favor, they are paying for a service and the difference between uber and normal yellow taxi should be the QUALITY of the service. If you are nice and friendly and notice that the passenger is not in the mood to talk, let him/her be without attitude. It is what they want at that point and will still give you a good score.

ReplyDeletehello riders!!!!! Uber/taxify is a transport service here to provide decent, comfortable, efficient and secured means of transportation at affordable rates. It is not your house, club or were you can exhibit how ill-mannered you are or behave like spoilt little brats!
This is not to excuse the unprofessional manner in which some drivers carry out their jobs while working on the platform however, some riders can be impossible!!. I have experienced this first hand, my driver's have too and friends have also experienced same. These are individuals with over 400 trips and still on over 4.8 ratings on Uber. These are professional bankers, IT guys etc by day and Uber or taxify drivers by night and weekends. Na who no want extra income inside dis APC change era?
You see riders taking a cash trip without having any cash , you see riders get into a clean car(especially ladies) just to trash the place with makeup stains and food, you see riders convert a car into a clubhouse by increasing the volume of the sound system to the limit, you see a rider asking you to go over speed limits or sometimes take one ways bcuz they are running late, etc
Over a week ago a driver of mine said he carried three gifty english speaking type of ladies who took a cash trip but didn't have a penny on them when they go to their destination. They formed trying to withdraw cash from the ATM but, it failed to dispense cash according to dem. They formed trying to do a transfer but the network was bad. They finally promised to transfer the money later. It is over a week now yet, stories still dey flow like river Niger.
Or Na d one who made a driver to use the colour of him waste bin to trace is house instead of giving house number, after which for over an 30mins he refused to show up to take trip.
Abeg I don tire to type. Riders or drivers respect yourselves n the next person.
