Latest Scam In Town - Kids As Collateral!

Brace your properly because you are about to read the latest scam in town...Wonders!

Please my fellow Nigerians, let's be careful with our children,Who they hang out with and where they hangout.

These kids above followed a man to a store as collateral for goods worth twenty eight thousand naira. These two boys said they do not know the man but vouched they knew him when they got to the store for reasons known or unknown to them.

This was what they said happened.

They were walking on the road alone and they were stopped by a man and he asked them to follow him to buy some goods from the shop. When they got to the shop, he told the sales boy he didn't have enough cash but told the boys to stay as collateral for him to get money from the ATM but he took the goods worth 28,000 naira along with him.

As at the time of reporting this news, the location of the man is unknown, the goods are all gone but the kids are being held in custody.

If you know these children, help us reach out to their parents.
This happened in Ikeja today, the 4th of April, 2016.
The boys are the one sitting and the one wearing green.

We will update you with this story tomorrow....If Possible!

    1. Stella abeg this no be new scam, it's been on for a very long time.

The first time I heard it happened to our family friend, it was around 2002/2003. The girl was around 10yrs then, her grandma (RIP) sent her fish in the market, on getting to the market, a woman approached her and the next thing was that the woman took her to Gbagi Market and she already told her that when they got to the store, she should address her like her mum.
On getting to the market, the woman bought some ready-made clothes for her children and she was asking that our own girl that 'is this cloth good for your kid sister? Will this clothes seize your elder sister?'. The small gir too cooperated with her. After she bought clothes worth 8k as @that time, she now told the shop keeper that 'let me get you money from my car, let this my daughter stay here, I'm coming'. As narrated by the girl when we got home, the small girl then is now married with 2 kids today.

Whereas, we have suffered looking for this girl and we visited 3 Police Stations already, it was around past 7pm someone hinted us that a girl was used as collateral @Gbagi Market, we shall all rushed there and lo and behold, we met them but the woman had already taken her to police station as well.
Her father later paid the woman her money and even paid to bail her out as well. I will never forget that day, because we cooked yam and we couldn't eat it, it wasn't funny @all then

  10. Really?? Wonders shall never end oh! But then, does it mean that parents no longer teach their children not to talk to strangers anymore? Or do they fall on deaf ears?
Because even at my age right now, I don't greet strangers... Let alone talking to them thereby avoiding every opportunity for conversations, I was raised like this. I pray that they fine help soonest.

  12. Jesus is Lord, evil people everywhere, years back in makurdi a friend saw her neighbors daughter walked pass her with a man and didn't greet her,she called her'Ekene can't you greet again 'no response from Ekene, she shouted again,'Ekene am talking to you' still no response, she turned and saw Ekene following the man like a zombie and began to shout,he started running and passersby ran after him and caught him,he had used charm on the little girl and she didn't recognize their neighbor or anyone, God used that neighbor to save the little girl, today Ekene is a grown lady married with children, this happened in Army Children School North Bank Makurdi.over 17years ago, then it wasn't fenced, though I don't know the state of the school now,but my point is for us to be vigilant.

    2. @Anon, you are so on point here. God bless that neighbor for saving that little girls life. I remember in secondary school when we went for school trips, one student drowned in the trip but was seen by a neighbor following an old woman in a market ( Oyingbo market)! The neighbor said the girl looked so beautiful and calm and was carrying a basket for the old woman. That ordeal still brings goose bumps anything I remember my secondary sec tales.

  16. This is not new it happens often in Lagos, someone did this to my neighbour who was selling bags of rice and flour. The man took bags of flour and told her his son will stay while he go get the balance of the money from a friend in the next street.
That was how he disappeared without trace
