The Family of the Late Stella Adadevoh has exempted itself from the movie "93 Days Ebola"a movie that is directed by Steve Gukas and is about to be released.
In a statement signed by Dr Ama Adadevoh on behalf of the family of the deceased, the family said that they used the late doctor’s story for movie production without their permission and that the producer will be held legally responsible for using her image for commercial purpose.
Here is a statement released by Dr Ama Adadevoh on behalf of the family of the deceased:
I wonder why they didnt contact the Family before embarking on this project....Anyway if they have already shot the movie without consent, then big loss to them!
They shld have contacted the family 1st. they better look for a way to beg the family.
ReplyDeleteYes big loss to them...and big loss will it.forever be to them
DeleteThey want.to.make.money off the.dead woman
What nonsense and ingredients
@Galore
No No.. that was silly of the producer. Such a sensitive matter should have been discussed with her family and even the lagos state government before production. You can't make money off someone else's grief. Wrong move. But they can still appeal to the family though. Hopefully they'll get their permission to proceed.
DeleteEnd time fraudulent movie
ReplyDeleteAre you one trillion?. If you are not then stop copying.
DeleteHe is trillion
DeleteI'm sure he is
DeleteI doubt if he is jare, cos sometimes after natt's comment, one trillion still drops comment. This one is just a chameleon.
DeleteEver since he got busted years, one trillion suddenly disappeared
Delete*yesterday
DeleteEnd time producer.
DeleteThat's so wrong on the part of the producer...Na wa
ReplyDeleteNigerians have no respect!!!!! How can they do that???!! Just because they want to make money nd not share!!! Selfish lots.
ReplyDeleteThey should have contacted the family, There's something called procedure. They didn't regard the family.
ReplyDeleteServes them right!
ReplyDeleteOk ooo
ReplyDeleteNigerians don't understand what is called copyright and royalties!
ReplyDeleteBy the time we know we have rights and these should and can be protected, our problems will reduce by half!
stupid producer
ReplyDeleteA way of making money with the poor woman's name...selfish lots.
ReplyDeleteI tell you
DeleteUnam.ikot.people
@Galore
Do the needful film producer and respect the dead pls
ReplyDeleteThat was such a selfish and unprofessional act
ReplyDeleteHmmm big mistake from the producers, costly one
ReplyDeleteNigerians don't have respect. At least get the family's consent.
ReplyDeleteWell it can go one of two ways.
ReplyDeleteThey could sue the family and get some sort of injuction/compensation.
If I were to represent the producer; I could advise that a caveat be put saying "characters represented in this movie is at fictitious and not directed at anyone and apologies to anybody who bears some semblance to the characters depicted herein". That would go a long way in preventing the family from making any claim.
And the late Dr.'s picture that was used nko? Ndi law
DeleteHian!!! You r a wicked and smart person
DeleteMay God help your soul.
Delete@ivy, I see no cover here and even if they used her picture; they could simply dedicate the movie in the memory of everyone who lost their life to ebola. What I am trying to say is that the court isn't always your last resort...
Delete@jasmine wickedness is relative ;)
Not when her picture was used
DeleteAnd how is that smart?
DeleteEven Hollywood won't try such
I thought I heard bimbo akintola saying something about meeting with the family and all during the making of the movie sometime last year. Well who knows?
ReplyDeleteThey should sue them. Movie producers do quick to turn everything to movie or documentary
ReplyDeleteReal gobe!
ReplyDeleteWhatever
ReplyDeleteWe can't continue being primitive as some thought. There's no way they won't get approval from those concern before making film in abroad but here, they'll take us for granted....
ReplyDeleteNice steps taken.
"In abroad' is wrong dear. "Before making film abroad" is the correct thing to say. Winks
DeleteLol
DeleteThe producer's cup of shai after they sue his not sorry ass. How will they not talk to the family of the deceased before embarking on the project. Chop alone, suffer alone.
ReplyDelete@stranger fictitious or not. You know it, i know it and Nigerians know it, that this movie will surely depict the circumstances surrounding the late Adadevoh's death. This movie should have been made as a national relic to show coming generations about the bravery of those who died during the Ebola outbreak. But our leaders only know how to share Yam.
Miss Somerhalder.
Mtchewwwwwww. All these olodo "I must answer producer". No respect!
ReplyDelete93 days Ebola. Couldn't they have thought of a better name? smh
ReplyDeleteHow can one embark on a job,a posthumous one for that matter detailing the life, times and a particular event of a person without having the full backing of the family concerned? Who does that? If I were the star act,I won't step on set till consent is gotten from the family. How can the family be shown the script after the movie has been shot? Nawa!
ReplyDeleteTheir problem
ReplyDeleteNawa

Too bad, they should have gotten the family's permission. Only in naija can this happen.
ReplyDeleteEven the original frank lucas was consulted and paid, b4 american gangstar cud be shot, even tho he was a criminal. Now a fallen heroine is been taken advantage of, contacting is not d issue, dey shud also get a percentage of the profit.
ReplyDeleteNo no too bad of them not to inform the family first, is gonna be real big lost to them unless otherwise settle with the family first.
ReplyDeleteThey should compensate the family n they should do it well.
ReplyDeletewhat sort of selfish nonsense is this?
