Police Allege Dead Bank Manager Committed Suicide.

A 44 year old Manager of a new generation bank in Arepo, Ogun state, Mr. Habeeb Olatunde has committed suicide by hanging himself after taken excuse from office on account of being stressed up.
Olatunde, who was declared missing on June 18, was said to have taken his own life while he was on casual leave.

A statement from Ogun state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the death of the Bank chief, saying that his decomposing body was found dangling in an uncompleted building at Arepo, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Saturday.

The statement read in part: “The police detectives attached to Ibafo Divisional Headquarters led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Salawu Jimoh, have discovered the body of one Mr Habeeb Olatunde, m, 44, native of Kwara State, the manager of a commercial bank, who was declared missing since June 18, 2014, in an uncompleted building at Arepo, near Ibafo, at about 1500hrs on Saturday July 5.
“The decomposing body was found hanged  in the building when the police detectives arrived at the scene. Preliminary investigation revealed that the top bank official committed suicide by hanging.”

The Police said that his corpse had been released to his family for burial according to Islamic rite “as no mark of violence was found on the body and no foul play suspected.”
The state Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye was reported as commending members of the community for their support and cooperation towards achieving adequate security of lives and property in Arepo and Ogun State in general.

“The commissioner also commiserated with the family of the deceased, members of his community and his colleagues in the office for the loss, praying that God would give them the fortitude to bear the loss,” the statement said.

*what proof do they have?because he was hung might not really mean he committed suicide.this is too shocking that this fine man off-ed his own life.
Oh God,if this is true,why?
RIP

    1. Don't mind them. Whether murdered or not every one who dies should go thru autopsy to ascertain cause of death, imperatively.

  15. Of course he was killed and then it was staged to make it look like a suicide. If he wanted to kill himself, did he have to an uncompleted building to do so? Lazy, clueless, questionable Nigerian police have concluded its suicide. This was the same way a friend's brother, Adonye was killed 2 years ago.

  17. @7.55 am. In response to your comment, Firstly. I pray that God give his family the fortitude to bear his loss. I'm not condoning anyone that takes their own life but unless you are in their shoe, you so uldn't know what you are going through. Is the world that we live that is messed up. No more true love in the world and everybody with his own. I'm not talking about relationship kind of love but a general love from friends and families. When the chips are down, you are on your own and when you are in this situation and everybody that should give you a crying shoulder turned away, honestly it takes the will of God for someone not to take a drastic foolish decision. I'm going through so much in my life right now with my health and it leads to financial handicap and everyone has turned against me because my enemy is broke. They stopped calling and when I take the courage to call them they weren't picking up my calls. My enemy was so broke that I started borrowing money from close friends and because Of my health situation and haven't paid them back, I now knows what human being was made of. Saying I was humiliated by them will be an understatement. They have all abandoned me and I have no one now except God. Many times I have thought of giving up and wondered many times why I'm still living. Very depressed and sad for being abandoned by loved one and is
Like they were happy for my misery too. God forbid I did something drastic, this same people that not only abandoned me but were happy for my situation despite all my assistance to them when I had money will be the one that cried most and questioned why I gave up. Unfortunately We live in a world that people only care about you when things are rosy. I have seen what people are made of and is only with the grace of God that I'm still standing . On a last note, I'm using this opportunity to plead with people to take the time to ask someone around them IF THEY ARE OK. That 4 letter words means billions to a lot of people out there that have lost hope in life and just a second away from ending it all. Is not about giving money but about showing that you care by either giving a shoulder to cry on or giving a listening ears.

    3. The joy of the Lord is your strength. Though its dark today, there is light at the end of a dark tunnel.

Always remember God is close to the lonely more, just call upon him and watch your life turn around.

I know because I have been there, nights upon nights and days that I soaked my pillow with tears, so alone but then God gave me grace to pray and sought him and bam, everything changed around for my good.

Life is not a bed of roses but surely there is beauty for ashes in this world given by God alone our maker.

I don't know you, but you have touched my heart today and you are in my prayer. Use Isaiah 53:4-5 to pray and receive your healing in Jesus name. Love you.

    4. Never put your hope on a human They can fail you but God can never fail you.. Go to him in prayer, cry all you want to him, communicate with him,go to him and drop all your worries at his feet and he will make you whole again.. Have faith in him like the woman who had the issue of blood did in him and you will receive your healing... He would heal you and restore all that the cankerworms have taken from you.. You shall pursue, overtake, overcome and recover all and all those who abandoned you will see the finger of God in your life..

  22. so because he is fine, he can not have a mental disease which might cause him to want to commit suicide? Really Stella? na so ur book carry you reach. its possible that it was suicide and could possibly be murder, nothing pass naija ppl power sha but your statement that "fine man commit suicide is greatly flawed". depression or mental disease no dey choose who e dey affect. Everyone is susceptible to it, black, white, short, fat, gorgeous, ugly. you should be educating your readers on that.

  29. Jesus is our only true lover. When mother and father forsakes us, he will always be there for us.

I pray the family of this man finds comfort with the Lord the giver of life. God bless his soul.

We live in a very sad world, but God gives us joy.

    ReplyDelete
  30. When it involves human beings its "hanged" not "hung". Hung is used for things, not people. Stella take note.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Nigerian police don't investigate, they merely conclude. Especially when the family does not have money to mobilize them, they will hurriedly close the case. No checks for finger prints, DNA, homicide, sanity, health check, family background etc. . Sad. May his soul RIP

  32. I hope someone did not hang him. Why would he go to such a place to die when he had a living place.Rose
