DeleteNo offense Stella since I know you a are journalist but why do Nigerian journalists like to refer to people by their skin tone? It is always light skinned this or dark skinned that what is wrong in simply saying beautiful Nollywood actress or Nigerian super producer or ace Nigerian soccer star or something else other than skin tone it doesn't make sense. Is it taught in Nigerian universities to describe people by their skin tone I have honestly never seen this anywhere else only in Nigerian blogs, newspapers and magazines.

However I think other countries do not refer to skin tone, for fear of being tagged racist.
But they do describe people with reference to their hair colour, i.e brunette, blonde,etc...
So I don't think There's really any offence intended, its just part of reporting.
