''Please I have a problem and will appreciate if you and your readers
have one or two things to say.
I've been married for two years now without a child, not that this is
a problem to me because honestly I still think its early. But you know
women na, all they want after marriage is babies. My wife is so
disturbed, so we went to see a Doc. We did all sort of tests and we
came back clean. Although my sperm count is 18.5million which is not
too bad (as I learnt a normal sperm count is between 15 to 20million).
But the problem is my wife thinks she doesn't ovulate and I see
reasons with her. Now we've done tests and the Doc says she ovulates.
We've bought an ovulation kit and it shows she ovulates but the
question we've not been answered is why during her ovulation day her
discharge is still not clear and streatchy as it should be? Its
streatchy but not clear, rather creamy.
The Doc said not all women have a clear and streatchy discharge but
then its normal. Well I'm suppose to believe my Doctor but I just want
to know, has anybody being in this same situation? Or is there
something we are not doing right?
Please I need your advice so I can share this withmy wife as its
seriously affecting her emotionally.

First thing is your wife shud relax. Anxiety can make a woman not to conceive cos I experienced it too. Pregnancy will come wen U̶̲̥̅̊ least expect it.

Delete@post, your wife is reacting normally just the way every newly married lady does BUT its time for her to stop being anxious. Pregnancy can never come if she keeps getting worked up and anxious. Let her enjoy love making and not just do it because she is expecting to get pregnant.
If she continually ties love making to instant pregnancy, am sorry to say, it wont come. Speaking from experience (professionally).
Secondly a woman in her thirties will still ovulate very ell but wont have clear stretchy mucous like a woman in her twenties. the ovulation egg white is best during teenage years to early twenties.
Even the predict ovulation test kit will show positive line but the line wont be that thick as tht of pregnancy test but it doesnt mean she is not ovulating. So long as the Doctor have declared you both clean and healthy fertility, all you need do is relax, make sweet love, have fun, enjoy yourselves, forget about pregnancy worries and PRAY!!!!!!!! Because at the end of the day, anxiety won't yield any result.
Lastly, about the menstrual cycle, you didnt say how many days her menstrual cycle is. But i will use myself as an example: lets say my cycle is 26days, my ovulation period will be on 13th day of my menstrual period (+ or -1day). At least 3days to my ovulation period, i won't engage in
sex in ord-er for my Hubby's spermatozoa to increase in number and volume. A day to my ovulation or on the day, we will have intercourse.
Avoid having sex everyday, give yourselves 2 to 3 days interval in order to increase the volume and count of the male spermatozoa.
Oga your sperm count is not too good enough. Buy supplements, vitamins that will boost your sperm count. I know Zinc tablet, vitamin E is very good for sperm health (use google).
Your wifey can take supplements too. I will strongly recommend she starts taking folic acid (you can discuss with your Doctor) .
Above all commit everything to God. You will carry your baby soon.
I didn't get pregnant immediately after marriage. It was 8months after marriage God blessed me. and this happened at the exact month i decided to stop worrying my head off and just wait on God. It was like magic. That baby is 2yrs old today.
It is well with you and your wife.

I sometimes have the kind of discharge ur wife has,I thnk itz normal tho,since it has no odour.my doctor once told me that a woman's ovulation is at her peak on d 15th day of ur menstrual cycle,also 2days before and after the 15th day.(I.e 13th,14,15,16,17th day are your fertile period)so you can try this.and also to other ladies who don't want babies(this has worked severally4 me) ,u can avoid these days too.I hope this is helpful

DeleteI will advice you to see another doctor but judging on what the doctor said, you know everybody's system is different, so it may be possible that your wife's discharge is different from others. Tell your wife not to bother herself, God will give you guys your children at the right time. SHALOM

But have been charting my mucus sign daily as we have were taught during billings class. And i discovered i dont see the clear egg white mucus just the pap like one every day. Have previously noticed egg white mucus before i knew about billings method. But immediately after marriage no more egg white. I read the book LOVE AND LIFE i was given then and it talks about an infertile sign called PERSISTENT PAP which blocks the tubes and does not allow for fertilization even when there is ovulation . Am not worried because i believe when we are ready to have children egg white would come since have experienced it before in times past. Medically the egg white mucus is necessary for conception. I did some browsing yesterday and i read that guaifenesin(google it ) available in some cough syrup can be used to thin the mucus and allow for conception because the sperm cannot swim in the pap like mucus. ITS WELL. I will sit back and read others contributions.. Cant believe this post. God be praised!

Your doctor is right, my "stuff" is not clear too, but creamy and I get pregnant easily, if not for my implant, I will be pregnant every month if possible, so tell your wife that your doctor is right and try and have sex when she is ovulating ( use the kit) , she should lie down on her bum with her hips raised up with a pillow... It should help a lot...

ReplyDelete#yawns# hey man you don't need to worry yourself ok, you and your just need to go for a proper diagnosis. you need to go for follicle stimulating hormones(FSH) test, progesterone blood level test and endometrial biopsy( a procedure in which your sample of your endometrial tissue is determine if it is develop enough to support a pregnancy. And the cause of the disorder is not yet known so no worries just pray to God and I'm very sure he will answer your prayer.

Maybe your wife is one of those that her system does not secrete clear discharge on her ovulation days. As you have sought medical advice and been told all is well please try to calm her down because being emotionally disturbed also impacts on what happens in our bodies. Please try to help her relax and worry less, soon she will have her hearts desires fulfilled.

Since she uses ovulation kit to detect wen she ovulates, u guys can try using 'pre-seed' to baby dance during her fertile days. It is a fertility friendly lubricant. Then your wife should try not to stand up immediately after sex, she should lay down with her feet elevated for bout 30 mins.

ReplyDeleteHi...I am impressed by ur concern. Now to ur question. There r various ways to check if ur wife is ovulating. Some of them r objective and some r kinda subjective. And vagina mucus is one of dem. U also need to understand that human beings vary in der physiology and anatomy.

If anything...u can try anoda 'subjective' measurement if dt wl put ur wifes mind at rest say like measuring core body temp daily.
Pls encourage her to rest her mind...d various hormones in d body needs to be in sync for things to work well n worrying sure disrupts this.
If anything check for infection n check d tubes r patent. All d best dearie and soonest ur baby/babies wl arrive IJN.
Anxiety could cause more havoc than good. Not every woman get the egg white discharge @ ovulation as it is in d books.

Working with 'borderline' sperm count isnt always a best option when trying to conceive. Let her also do a HSG, to ensure her tubes r clear. Then keep trying. Somehow, it doesnt click with worry.

ReplyDeleteShe should just taake clomid on the 2nd day of her period, cus some ppl do not have strong follicles when they ovulate, clomid stimulates the follicles so they can grow bigger and stronger and she would probably need hormonal support when she gets pregnant

Most women use clomid, there are other drugs but clomid is good, just keep having sex around her fertile period even if you do not see the sticky stuff you are looking for
Also test her virgina juice, some may kill a mans sperm because they do not accept the sperm
+she should be on prenatal vitamins it may also help, or forlic acid
+ I hope she doznt have a hot womb, cus some can kill sperm
There are many other tests o, are you really sure you ran all
Cus some therapy may take 6months to be really sure sef
Just pray and tell your doc abt clomid and he should track the folicles

DeleteThe best thing to do that is if her problem is not serious is to consult a follicumetricist I dnt kno if I. Spelt it rite so that. U guys shud stop guessing cuz it cud b dat her ovulation. Comes when she is seeing her period, d follicumetrist wud track her ovulation. And if d eggs are scanty she can be placed on palodei and clomid, this is actually suposed to make her very. Fertile for conception! So ur job as d man is to do even wen ur tired! Because d scan will detect wen she wud shed eggs and d follicumetrist wud tell u how and wen u two will b meeting! Is well
ReplyDeleteSame thing happened to me, infact I didn't ovulate in some Months cos I was diagnosed with PCOS but the Dr told me the ovulation I had few months ago wasn't strong enough to make me conceive but my God said it was time for me to conceive. Am currently pregnant after 2years of marriage now, after the scan which showed my ovulation wasn't strong enough, I did blood pregnancy test few weeks later and was confirmed pregnant. Sir, tell u wife to take away anxiety and let God step in, and another thing I did was that my hubby and I started shopping for baby things even before I conceived, we have bought most of the things needed( that's faith) and we exercised it, visited motherless babies home and a whole lot of things like kingdom investment, tithe and service in God's vineyard. You are good man just like my husband. God bless all the good men!!
ReplyDeleteMy dear poster, are u sure u are not my husband? Lol! Am thinking ur dr shd have put u thru the necessary tests...blood(Hormone profile), imaging(Scan, HSG), semen. But my worry is a lil abt ur semen. The last time I checked, normal sperm count is greater than 20million/ml. Ask ur dr again oh. Then if she's ovulating and every other thing is okay u guys still have to know that about 10% of infertility's cause is unknown! So I think she has to relax for now but do so with knowledge of age at the back of ur mind...as per saving towards IVF if nothing happens. But in all this, remember that "Children are God's heritage and the fruit of the womb is His reward". I wish u and ur wife as many children as u desire,Amen.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of those things. Just believe in God. After 2 kids n one lost pregnancy I decided to try IVF/ICSI with hubby and it just failed. You can imagine the anxiety and the pain and the heart break. So pls relax it is God that gives children. And at God's appointed time you will have a child.

ReplyDeleteYou're one of a kind man cuz men barely do this. Ovulation is 14 - 16days after a menstrual period of 28days to 32days circle. I think u shuld try aving sex during her ovulation period. Some people av their ovulation during their periods tho
ReplyDeleteAs regards not having the right mucus discharge during her fertile window, it's a simple fix, there is a fertile lubricant that you can get for her. Conceive plus or pre seed. It's designed specifically to aid conception. God bless you both with children in Jesus name, amen!
ReplyDeleteAlright, so heres my experienced advice, I did not get pregnant until 9 months into marriage, first of all age was part of my issues I was 36yrs old and for some reason try as i cud, I couldn't get pregnant and we also went thro all manner of tests including this rather very painful one ( HSG ) and were given clean bill so I became a doctor oo ( at least my husband said so) I read and read and read, so for the thick or creamy discharge buy Ributosin ( not sure the spelling is correct) it is a cough syrup and is supposed to loosen mucus in the chest but also loosens virginal discharge too, and let her manage the taste it's horrible ( smile) let her think of the baby she' ll have after wards. Now, another thing she shud do is ask her DR to give her Clomid, it helps you to ovulate by force, it has worked for me twice my 2 pregnancies were achieved via Clomid, don't take it by your self get a DR to give you that Way he will give you a chart for when to meet and bla bla bla, above all my brother, pray, while I was doing all that I PRAYED! No be jagajaga prayer oo and God answered me with a dream and 2 weeks after I was pregnant. That's another story.

You should not mind that doctor,I was barren for 5yrs til God answered me this year... I went for test where I was told that my 2 tubes are blocked and that am not ovulating...did doc was like a family doctor to us but recently I changed to another hospital... I was asked to do another test including HSG, ETC... behold after d test, I was given a clean report... my 2 tubes are not blocked and am ovulating...I was only advice to rest much and think less... behold after 3 months I took in,no medication... what a wonderful God.

ReplyDeleteShe should drink a lot of water on the days leading to her ovulation and also eat a lot of fruits (except pineapple as this should be eaten only after ovulation to aid implantation......watermelons are the best option) . This question is very key as you need fertile cervical mucus (also known as raw egg-white like cervical mucus) for the sperm to get to the egg during ovulation. The most important thing is she should avoid anxiety as this can mess things up and cause more delay. Dont forget your prayers too, God na the ultimate last last o. Good luck to you both!

ReplyDeletepls let her go with the ovulation prediction kit...if you can afford it use the digital one (clearblue) and have sex on the fertile days
alternatively she can go for follicle monitoring (thru scan) at the hospital

She might have an infection. Do a urine test to check for infection. God is the only giver of children. Look to Him, He will answer. You are blessed in Jesus name.

2)How prepared is your wife's body for this gift? For example: u built a house n its not fully done n u move into it, would u be safe there? Would u be comfortable? Would u want to be living there? The answer is No! That's the same with the woman body, a baby/seed will not attach to the cervix if its not prepared..Even if it does, it can lead to miscarriages or deformity of the child. So therefore her body has to be prepared for this change to her body. How can she prepare?
3) Taking Vitamins n folic acid. I recommend Pregnacare Conception and Dr Meyers Folic Acid. This helps to give her body the vital nutrients it needs for the baby. Taking this will help prepare the house of the baby and her body for conceiving.
4) Since she has questions with ovulation, here it is: she ovulates which is a good thing.. I didn't ovulate for a year, and I don't know why I refused to use medicines given by the doctors. I am still very skeptic about medicines but I love natural remedies. When I wasn't ovulating, I went online to search for foods that boost ovulation and I was shocked when I read different foods that help boost ovulation, Once I changed my diet to suit such food, My ovulation became regular even tho my periods wasn't. Anyways, have her change her diet to food that boost ovulation, it helps to increase her chances of conceiving.
5) For u, even tho doctors have certified u. You need to prepare ur system to produce strong and fertile sperms. How can u achieve that? The only fruit that u need to make that happen is TOMATO!! Yes I said TOMATO and you read correctly..Eat fresh tomatoes everyday and drink loads of water..Water purifies the system n tomato strengthens the sperm and makes it fertile.. Avoid AlCOHOL for this time. If you r like me u loves to drink red wine, cut off all kinds of Alcohol and substitute with water. Its just for a short period of time..
ReplyDelete6) Invest on Ovulation Kits.. I recommend PREDICTE. Buy 4 packs which is 20 testers.. Have her test her urine everyday, starting from a day after her period. You can gladly have sex with her for 10days after which u have to abstain in order to give ur lil soldiers time to recuperate *wink*. Most women ovulate 14days after and some longer.
7) Once she gets a positive ovulation result, make sure u meet with her..Please remember to enjoy every bit of lovemaking and make less of worry when u do.. Meet with her for all d days she tests positive to ovulation.
